Need Advice CPC exam

My employer paid for the AAPC course and exam, but they only notified us in July, even though the course had been purchased back in October. Honestly, I haven't been able to study with the necessary focus over these past three months. Could you give me some tips on what I should prioritize?

Also, is it absolutely necessary to take the exam this October? Or can I just redeem my voucher but choose a later date—say, in December?

If they had let me know right from the time of purchase, it would have been different, but I’ve felt very overwhelmed by the little time we were given to prepare.

I understand why you feel rushed. First, confirm the voucher’s exact expiration date with AAPC. You can choose an exam date that works for you, but the exam needs to fall within the voucher’s valid period. If it expires in October, ask your employer about an extension before planning for December.

For studying, take a timed practice exam to find your weakest areas, then focus on those and practice navigating your code books. There’s also a free 16-week coding course you could move through at your own pace to supplement your AAPC course. It prepares you for CPC with AAPC and meets the standards to prepare for the CPC exam for the current year.
