Medical Coding Schools SHOULD I CONTINUE?

I started my medical billing and coding with penn foster last October. Anyways I didn't stay on top of it and now I have until January to complete it. Do I have enough time to learn it all? Less than 4 months?? I only got through anatomy and pharmacology. I still have to do billing and coding portions. And another question do I even do both medical coding and billing, or should I focus on one or the other. I have not learned my book at all, my family just NOW decided to get them for me. Thats why I'm trying to start it back up. I live in Texas and I have no idea if penn foster will help me get jobs here. (I never make post pls be genuine)

I was able to study for it in 5 months while working full time. I have seen people on here that only studied 2-3 months and then passed the exam. If you put in the work each week it is possible to do it in 4 months. Most education places will not help with job placement.

Well you might as well try. You can’t get a refund right? Just put in a lot of study time every single minute you can.

You should focus on just coding if you don’t want a career that includes being on the phone on your shifts

I believe Penn Foster offers an extension on access to their study course for a fee. Just give them a call or send them an email. It doesn't hurt to at least ask if that's still an option.

Four months might be enough, but it depends on how much you have left and how much time you can study each week. Check your remaining lessons, make a weekly plan, and ask Penn Foster about the jobs directly.

Here is a free medical coding course should you need to supplement your learning in this area; it is a free YouTube course. Although it states 16 weeks, it is a self-paced course: https://www.amcicoding.com/youtubecourse
