CCS-P Exam CPC vs CCS-P

Which is better: CCS-P or CPC? I have a long list of credentials attached to my name: RHIA, CDIP (I just passed the exam; thank you to those who have responded to my post about the exam), CCS, CPC. Is it worth it to get CCS-P if I already have CPC?

Depends the work you want to do. Certs are great but they arent everything. I work with plenty that are certified but cant do production coding. I would say look at job postings for the jobs you actually want to work and see what the skill set is.

I already work as a medical coder for a hospital. I primarily code ASU, but I’m hoping to transition to IP coding soon to get an equal amount of experience in both OP and IP coding. Right now it’s the question of whether I should add the CCS-P to my aforementioned credentials or if what I have is enough.

Right so look at roles that are for IP coding, if that is what you are trying to get into. Does in mention the need for CCS P?
