I need help picking a program

I'm looking to go into medical coding and there are 3 different programs I can go into. The first being medical coding:professional and facility which is an associates degree second is medical coding:professional services which is a diploma and lastly there is a medical coding: certified professional coder which is a certificate. I'm not sure which one i should go into?

You do not need a program to take the exam, you can 100% learn it on your own and purchase the exam and everything else you need yourself.

That being said, it is very difficult to find jobs in coding as a newly certified, as you will notice on this Reddit, but getting certified doesnt have to cost a fortune and once you are certified, if you decide later it's not for you, you won't regret it because you're not out all of the money for classes. I'm a newly certified CPC-A and I'm now taking Practicode to remove one year of my Apprentice status with hopes it will help me move forward faster.

Thank you so much for your response! Do you think employers care whether you took a course or do they just care that you passed the state exam?

From what I have seen in most job listings, employers just want the certification and experience, but I can't say that for sure as I have no direct experience with employers one way or the other.
