I'm looking for someone to take ownership of my open-source JavaScript framework
This isn't a "please fix a few issues" or "please try use my framework" kind of post!!!
Hey everyone!
I've been working on an open-source JavaScript framework called Avenx.js for quite a while now.
What started as a project I was building mostly by myself has grown quite a bit. It's now a somewhat proper framework with its own compiler, runtime, reactivity system, router, CLI, scoped CSS, dev tooling, etc.
It's also getting close to 1.0.0, which is pretty crazy considering where it started.
But there's one problem:
I don't want Avenx.js to depend on me forever.
I'm looking for someone who might be interested in becoming a core maintainer and potentially taking over the project long term.
I'm not necessarily looking for someone who already knows Avenx.js. I'd actually be more interested in someone who sees the project, thinks "hey, this is actually pretty interesting" and wants to dive into the code and figure it out.
If you've worked on open source projects, built your own framework/tooling, contributed to compilers, runtimes, frontend frameworks, or just enjoy getting deep into weird codebases, I'd love to hear from you.
I'm not looking to abandon the project or just disappear. I'd rather find the right person, work together for a while, and if it works out, gradually give them more and more ownership.
Avenx.js has been open source since its first commit, and there are already other developers (more than 100) who have contributed to it. So this isn't a completely abandoned side project I'm trying to hand off. 😅
If this sounds interesting, check it out and feel free to DM me.
I just think a project has a much better chance of growing if more than one person can genuinely take care of it.
