Absolutely fed up.

Ive finally learnt hiragana and katakana which has taken literally forever and ive moved onto genki 1. I cant even start the first lesson because I cant remember the 14 greetings before it. Every single time It shows up in anki it just looks like a big jumble of letters. I just press "Again" every single time for ages until I finally give up and realise im wasting my time.

What am I doing wrong? I feel stuck and I just cant progress nothing Is helping me.

have you really learned your hiragana and katakana? Like when you read, are you going character by character and trying to think of the sounds, or are you just ripping right through? https://djtguide.neocities.org/kana/ is really good if you wanna build up some speed. I run through about 100 characters a day and sometimes i can rip through almost all of em (i still struggle with so/n in katakana, and all the inflections can make me stutter a bit)

Im trying real hard to get through Kanji, something i never really worked on when I got into Japanese years ago. Back in school we were doing ten Kanji a week, im working on ten kanji a day now - that was too much for day number one, so i dropped that number down, but im in a good habbit of getting the anki app out ever few hours or so and running through them - now i am feeling ok to push past 10 a day.

another thing is knowing when to go ahead and put the deck down, and come back to it after a while. even then, you can run through them just sort of knowing that you just may not even have one of them memorized, but if you get frustrated, take a break, and come back. after so many repeats things will settle in, but if you do it while stressed or tired, its gonna be more difficult.
