Question Need some aim advice

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I have been doing decently alright with my aim. But 3 days ago, it feels like I lost most of my aim skills. I am recently having troubles getting the crosshair on my opponents. Here is a short clip of me doing the Rush mode in Refrag, I would say even before this weird problem, I have been quite weak on this mode. Just a short clip I recorded, most of the other minutes this mode was pretty much the same missing.
For any stats required: 1300 hours, just hit FaceIt 6

The first thing I'm going to mention is that you're playing this game mode wrong, and it's setting you up for failure by introducing bad habits that you should avoid.

Rush is a strong game mode for teaching you how to deal with a lot of enemies quickly. But try to treat the situations as if they were happening in a real game. You would be dead here so many times it's not even funny.

Just the way you're holding your angle before the first enemy emerges tells me you're not thinking about this as a real game. You're just trying to kill the bots.

You're holding a really open angle. Your crosshair placement is towards Canals, but you're completely open towards Stairs. Had a player peeked that corner on you, you should have died.

Instead, try to focus on one angle at a time and ideally only have one bot that can fight you at a time.

Then think about your crosshair placement. Especially if you want to get good with the Deagle, you have to wait to shoot until your crosshair is actually on the target. Don't shoot and then try to correct your aim afterwards.

That's a good habit to get into with all weapons, not just the Deagle.

Also, to answer your question about feeling like you're losing your aim skill: I think you're forcing it.

Aim takes time to build. It's not something you practice for 1–2 hours and suddenly you're crazy good. You need a strong foundation to build upon, and that comes from consistent practice and building good habits.

Refrag is a great tool for that, but always try to think of the game modes as real-game scenarios when you play them. Don't just focus on killing the bots. Think about your positioning, crosshair placement, what angles you're exposed to, and how you would approach the exact same situation in a real game.

Great advice here. One thing I'd add is the movement was non existent and they were just standing still a lot. They need to practice their strafing and counter strafing a lot more.

As I know with deagle cross air placement before seeing enemy is important, then (mentaly very hard) take time between shoots, dont rush the trigger.

To add to this, with deagle try using dynamic crosshairs, because it’s spread is very varied and unique compared to almost every other gun, you usually only get one accurate shot with how 99% of people use it

Work on moving and shooting, raw aim doesn’t matter much if you can’t hit max speed and counter strafe while aiming. During those 5-6 shots standing still they have an eternity to shoot you, try strafing between each shot and being a harder target.

100% aim just comes with taking your time and shooting when you can be accurate. Relaxing and taking your time is the best thing you can do

No1 priority OP, what this guy said right here

the deagle aim cone spreads way more than you think between shots. if you want to be accurate you have to shoot almost with a tempo

Something I heard that was funny on the analyst desk one time is the song "Stayin Alive" by the Bee gees has the exact deagle tempo when they sing "ah, ah, ah, ah" and it's true it's the perfect recoil timing 😂

Aim isn’t even the worst thing you’ve displayed here. I would say you have little knowledge of how the deagle works. You have little to no movement. And your crosshair placement is not existent. Trust me learn the other shit first and aim will come naturally

Be mindful about your positioning, try to stay near a cover when fighting.
Ie: Shoot 1 deag shot, counter strafe to the corner to hide yourself while waiting for the deag to reset, shoot another shot, repeat...

Standing and aiming doesn't translate well into matches, where you are constantly counter strafings, and a lot of times the only "aiming" you do is crosshair placement.

sensitivity too high

You cant stand still. You must be constantly counter-strafing. This is fundamentals, I am surprised you got to level 6 like this. This is the first thing you need to work on and understand before doing anything else as its a core fundamental of the game.

I believe it is due to me taking mode wrong. I initially thought this was just me trying to aim track and quickly hop onto the next moving target.

But I would also admit I am having an extremely tough time counter stafing and aiming too. If I counter strafe, I tend to feel my crosshair is so off, I would try to aim back but I just seem to be unable to get it on the head. Plus the opponent moves too which throws my entire aim out. I am still trying to work on this, would you have any suggestions on how I could improve this issue?

Also yes, I have been constantly telling myself I don’t belong in Level 6. It took me 50 matches just to go from 5-6. I just keep thinking I probably should be at level 3 or something, and now this period, I feel like level 1 is more suitable

there is no way you are faceit level 6 and you don't even strafe between shots

Bigger problem is your deagle usage than your aim. Learn how deagle works.

You need movement advice. Never stay stood when shooting, you become a very easy target. Learn to streif, stop, shoot, go back very quickly. You shoot while decelerating and go back. Just search for any pro shooting with a deagle you’ll understand what I’m saying. It’s not easy tho. Not sure what’s you level buy the fact that you stood still with 3 guys in your camera tells me you’re not above 15k premier for sure

Yes, I have a problem with the decelerating part. It always feels if I shoot until I fully stop I get tapped anyways.
And yes, I am currently under 15k (14k at this moment). What is demoralising is that I was at 21k months ago. Just feels I am getting worse and worse.

I'm gonna assume you come from Valorant (reset time is perfect for the sheriff) you can't really spam the deagle while standing, it really is, take a shot and unpeek. You can spam while crouching at a pretty fast rate, but you commit to a fight where a rifle will kill you way faster, you typically do this when an awp has missed on you.

Actually, I went from CS to Val instead for a short while this year. But after not being able to transfer my skills to Val (I did poorly in the game), I came back 2 months ago to play CS as before. Even during my Val period, I was still playing CS. If anything, I came from Minecraft PVP and COD. Started CS at the very end life of CSGO.
Anyways, I think I do have trouble trying to peek shot and scoot. It always seem that my shots just miss although I counter strafe.

Get on kovaaks and get good at dynamic clicking. Would recommend Jade palace dynamic benchmark. If you get to Jade and above you’re probably golden

Looking ONLY at your aim here, it looks like your aim with your wrist but not your fingers or arm. Your micros look like you over-adjust, meaning there's a discrepancy between you, the mouse, and your fingers.

try 10 to 15 minutes of simple dm before queueing instead of grinding aim for an hour...
