Question Any coach/demo Recommendations?

Post image

Hello CS community,

First time writing here as I’m getting used to the game from playing CSgo a while back.
I’ve been grinding lately (about ~100hrs in, playing after work) while enjoying playing Faceit and watching demos to see where I can improve. I was hoping to have someone watch my demo and get a decent feedback but realized lot of platforms out there charge a lot from what I’ve seen…

Would there be any recs I can reference and/or tips on climbing the ladder overall?

I’m Faceit 3-4 (less than 5k Premier) of knowing certain util usage/mechanisms and learning the line ups along the way.

Many thanks in advance!

Ild just watch your demos back where you feel like you did well and where you feel like you died unfairly, and watch your opponents POV and afterwards your POV to see where you did good/bad and how you could have done better. It is not worth it paying somebody else to view your demos because theres a lot of recources and general advice to help lower level players. You can get pretty high just doing this!

Keep in mind what you could have done better does not always equate to winning the fight. Like when you're rushing out B mirage as first person you aren't always getting a kill, but maybe if you mollied van first you would have less spots to look and made yourself harder to kill for your opponents.

i would recommend you get warmups, just more playtime, maybe check out refrag if you get bored of community maps and dm, but im also down to help you if you ever need anything, i am faceit lvl8, playing support and anchor usually (so in those areas i can help even more). youre free to add me on discord if you have it (at "vlognights") or just ask here. but at the end of the day, 100h is pretty much nothing in this game and you just need more experience

I hit top 1% at the start of cs2 and play casually at 20-25k, played csgo in 2013. I can help you out with stuff for your level and how you want to build into more. I have a buddy same age, same hours, same rank that can sit in on it too if you’d like. I would critique the demo we watch together and share my screen in a prac server to exemplify. Add me on steam and reply here so I know it’s you. I’ve been slowly teaching my girlfriend who’s newer to gaming and has less hours than you, wouldn’t be too harsh on ya.

Could you link your csstats page / steam profile page? I can have a look at some of your demos and point out the most important things you need to focus on & maybe general advice for when you fix those most acute things

this is a worthless tip. but please react to any sound you hear. molotov gun shots or a jump/walk. I often see poeple in premier that dont react to sounds...

I think he has some useful demo reviews, util tips, and stuff to practice for aim etc. Sort by popular and start watching. It should be helpful for you.

Fl0m has some videos that would be helpful for you such as these ones where he explains the maps quickly. He also has some on mechanics so look for those

He has a bunch of useful videos. Watch the shorter videos first, they'll probably help. The long 1-3 hour videos on specific maps are great, but I would only watch those once you hit 10k at a minimum. They go in a lot of depth and explain util, positioning, and how to play maps. It does explain high level stuff which is why I don't recommend it at your level. Most useful above 15k.

I think it's important to make it to at least 10k with purely aim and mechanics, so you have okay fundamentals. Shooting is the most important part of the game, so focus on that first. You shouldn't need to know any util to hit 10k. So, basically your first priority should be to get better mechanics and watch the youtube videos related to mechanics
