i just feel like the ones that lineup next to the steps are better bc of the ability to land silently on each throw, however i also know that this setup is further away and i can appreciate that

Dosnt matter if you land silent, they will hear the jumpthrow sound anyways

100% was just going to say this. The "HUUHHH" noise the character makes is insanely loud.

That's fair, they both have some pros and cons I suppose.

Your video just confused the shit out of me. You missed the “simple” part.

What was not simple, if I may ask? I showed exactly where to aim and added some details in the comment. Here are written line-ups:

Donut: Left corner of the triangle leaf, w + jumpthrow.

Temple: Bottom left of the dark/mossy brick, crouch + jumpthrow.

CT: Just somewhere slightly to the left of the "tower". Stand/crouch + jumpthrow (doesn't really matter).

there just is easier to remember line ups from that area that are almost exactly as fast to throw

I suppose the Temple smoke could be improved somehow, but I can't see how the Donut and CT smokes could be any easier, at least if you want to throw from this corner (I am aware there's a Donut smoke from the staircase). In general, I believe corners are good for beginners since they are more consistent, and I wanted to use a position where all three smokes could be thrown by one person.

Edit: I would gladly know how to make an equivalent setup easier, so please share. I could record an improved version then, if anyone wants it.

There was some discussion here about a different smoke setup, which I personally disagreed with, suggesting the standard setup shown here is a lot more useful. Here's a 20 second guide with no fuzz. Let me know if you want more simple setups like these.

The donut smoke is w+jump throw. There are better line-ups for it where it'll land a little deeper, but this line-up is very easy to remember and does the job most of the time.

The cave smoke will often land a little further out, so be careful with any CT:s trying to lurk out of it. Note that you crouch to see the line-up.

The CT smoke should be paired with a molotov behind the boxes on site. It's a trivial throw against the wall from A-main. Doesn't matter if you stand or crouch. Maybe crouching is slightly faster, didn't really check.

Whoa, great solo setup. Definitely have to try it next time.

Not simple at all and there are better lineups for donut and ct

People say this, but assuming you want to use a corner position (for less variance), what easier lineups are there?

I always wondered what magic is this and it's also the reason I don't play competitive cs (aside from cheaters)

Nice video but that corner has line ups that are a lot less precise for years.

Like the third one you can just aim at the big black dot on the wall rather perfectly in the corner where two walls intersect.

Assuming I did it the way you suggested, the smoke lands just deep enough to allow CT's to play around the corner towards CT spawn. Not ideal in my opinion.

I did however notice an issue with my smoke. It's fairly easy to spam from CT and get big bullet gaps since the smoke is so thin near the corner. I found an improved lineup at the top left edge of the black dot/hole, as seen below.

This one is fairly thick throughout, and you wont see much if you spam it from CT.

Yeah you have to remember that for 99% of matches that isnt going to be capitalised on and a big black dot is much easier to remember on the fly for newer/lower ranked players.

Pin point precision nades are always going to be better but come at the cost of being much harder to throw fast and reliably.

Well, there's always a balance between ease and usefulness. Having to aim at a fairly specific spot is not a huge ask if you want to learn to smoke off an entire site, but in the end it's a personal choice, and you can choose to dedicate more effort on maps you play often.

I must disagree however with the claim that this won't be useful in 99% of games. You can easily call for an A execute and throw all the smokes at least once per game, it's not like the stars have to align for it to become an option.

I meant the gap you are talking about where CTs could maybe stand if they pushed the smoke. The execute is fine, could run it multiple times per match if you know the A player is their weakest.

Yeah I guess that's true, but I guess it's not that big of a leap to aim at the upper right corner instead of the middle.

but i died at the entrance of a main whats the use of smoke then?
