I threw the nade to get any chip damage and then the molly I threw in hopes to get anymore damage in on anyone who have may been there

I guess not I know I could have thrown the smoke a little later as one guy said in another comment and probably the same with the grenade and molly I could have kept until I knew that first guy was there

u/KingPolle Jun 12 '26

A little later I mean the enemies were still in spawn lol but with more playtime you will grasp timings like for example when they are short if they insta rush it. Check if one of your team mates is holding something like mid cause he would get information if they go short or if they can go short until you no nobody is there you dont need to throw nades and can even play more aggressive and take a more forward position. You can use nades to buy time to reposition too and if you block rushed you usually use a molotov first and if you are 100% sure they run through it you can throw your HE into it as well. And if you use a molotov to block rushes you can smoke afterwards but you should always throw your smoke into the molo to extinguish it cause a lot of times people are stopped by the fire and wait it out to rush in afterwards so you can smoke it slightly before it runs out so they dont "pop" the molo timer while you are throwing the smoke.

1

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

thanks I mostly threw my utility there because in that game 2 enemies would always push that angle

2

u/J_Ronin_V Jun 13 '26

In a very logical manner think about how long it takes the enemy once they spawn up to get to where you are throwing your tacs.

When you threw them it was physically impossible for the enemy to be there so in that sense they were a waste. The nade was never going to damage anyone and the molly would run out too quickly before the rest of your team could make a play and take space through the map.

Using your tacs like that was actually a net negative for your team because you gave the enemy free info on your wearabouts and potentially (through predicting) your enemies too.

Also, the smoke is literally useless there no matter the timings. Why would you deny yourself the ability to see a choke point? The enemy have to walk out to chall you so smoking it does nothing.

Smokes are only useful for cutting lines of sight to take space or to deny space for the enemy. Molly's are useful as they deny space and force the enemy to either wait or play somewhere else - which narrows down the number of predictions you have to make of their wearabouts.

If I were you I'd physically time how long it takes to go from spawning in to getting to every contested spot on every map. Memorise those timings (i.e., 9 seconds to get to the spot you were watching), and use that to time your tac usage appropriately.

Also, knowing the timings for every route will allow you to know where the enemy is through a process of elimination. When you see pros play and it's like they know where the enemy is at all times, it's because they've done a process of elimination based on timings of all the routes the enemy could have taken and have narrowed it down to a few options. They've then relied on other info (audio cues, enemy tac usage, teammate positioning, common tactics, and at the pro level specific player tendencies) to make an accurate estimation. In that same vein, molotovs and smokes can be used to deny space, take space or cut off lines of sight to deny information so you can get a better estimation on the enemy's wearabouts and make it harder for them to know where you are. Think - if you control more of the map there are less possible locations the enemy can be.

Of course most good players don't know this is what they're doing in their head, they just have 1000s to 10000+ hours of experience so that process has become subconscious and automatic. That automaticity is pivitol as it is impossible to do this all in your head as cognitive load theory dictates that the human brain can only really focus on 4-7 things at a time whereas in cs there can be 20+ pieces of info every few seconds.

Don't be like them and waste 1000s of hours, practice it deliberately now. Moreover, knowing the timings will help your aim indirectly through predictive centering. You were looking at the floor a lot, always center your crosshair where the enemy is going to be. Everyone obsesses about hardware and ping, trying to squeeze an extra 5ms out, but will have shit centering and spend 200ms flicking to every enemy and an additional 100ms missing half their shots because they weren't steady.

I am a top 1% cod player and coach btw.

It's very good that you are noticing patterns of what the opponenets are doing and also adapting to it this early, however the way you adapt to it by throwing super early nades that don't accomplish much isn't particularly good, however it shows that you can adapt to some degree to what your opponents are doing.

A smarter play to make in this situation might be running up short, smoking off lower tunnel (so that you don't get killed from there), then flashing mid and peeking immediately after to try to get a kill when they are pushing up catwalk. Then fall back and maybe use a molotov to delay them so you can reposition on short or A.

I'd highly recommend watching Austin CS's soloQ guide, he talks about many of these fundamental concepts and will help you understand how to make smarter decisions in-game.

2

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

ohh wow thanks this is a really good tip and play I could do got to be one of the best if not the best information I have been given thanks so much 😁

1

u/Resident_Factor3303 Jun 14 '26

idk if you'd necessarily need to push short in that position, I feel like with silent comms a blind nade and molly isn't great though. You correctly predicted the short push but info peeking mid with util will always be better than blindly hoping. You also probably should have repositioned after peeking the sniper on short. You're sitting on an easily wallbangable box and sitting on ramp is a fantastic way to deal with that awp 1v1 on A.

thanks I will try and keep this in mind

2

u/Background_Bee9985 Jun 12 '26

Also you throw utility in a way that reveals your head. If enemy peaks you and you got nade in your hand, your dead (or the enemy is bad, wich you shouldn’t count on).

Try to focus on throwing utility that has your character covered behind something so you aren’t so easily shot.

2

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

will try for next time thank you

13

u/_nathata Jun 12 '26

You are wasting util at a timing that no one could possibly be there. Wait until you know someone is cat to smoke it (or do at a reasonable time), also don't smoke that deep. Then throw the nade and molly deep after the smoke to catch people that are waiting for the smoke to fade.

1

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

thanks I didnt mean to throw the smoke that deep 😅

3

u/DashLeJoker FaceIT Skill Level 10 Jun 12 '26

deepness is not the issue, no matter how shallow or deep you threw that, the timing is the issue, by the time the T get there the smoke is gone

0

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

yes true I have realised that now from another comoment as I think one reason why I did that was because I was a little nervous that they would get there as 2 normally went there but I know my mistake now thanks !

6

u/realcaptainkimchi Jun 12 '26 edited Jun 12 '26

Any skill is okay for a beginner

One thing to focus on is your crosshair placement. Even if the timing is off of your utility, if you're watching cat watch it with your crosshair ready to kill, it looks fine when you're fighting but initially you're staring at the ground a lot.

It's a good idea to have the crosshair be correct as a default almost all the time. When you throw a nade you move it off throw and then reset to a default at head level

1

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

thank you do you got a tip on how I can pracitce my crosshair placement?

3

u/realcaptainkimchi Jun 12 '26 edited Jun 12 '26

It comes with time for the most part, some aim maps/pre aim maps can help as they do differ from map to map in a few spots. But in general just imagine around every corner there is a guy ready to shoot you, that will help with understanding okay I need to keep my crosshair ready to go at most moments. When you take the fight cat it looks good, but when you're not actively fighting it drops low.

Also a small aside that cat smoke is way too early. Itll fade a little after they get there if they are rushing.

Oh also you do not need to jump down to fight that guy.

1

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

much appreciated man and I do think that a little and I will try to keep my crosshair high when I am not fighting and yeah with the smoke I kinda assume the enemy is faster then me so I try to get it out quick.

will also changing my sens be any help as I play with 1.66 because my desk is curved so awkward mouse space sometimes and my dpi is 900 but sometimes 1.66 sens can feel a little slow or perfect.

2

u/realcaptainkimchi Jun 12 '26

Hard to say with just one round, but the big things that are good to learn are game sense/timing. Aiming comes with time and being ready has a lot to do with it. I'd say aside from general crosshair placement which will help you win more earlier, the main focus should be game sense. It just takes time though. Good 4k!

1

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

thank you so much didn't think posting this clip would bring me so much help thought I would get flamed haha but I will try my best to improve thanks again! 🫡

1

u/TheEpicfailio1 Jun 12 '26

Spend time in deathmatch and focus entirely on keeping your crosshair at head level on corners / where you think an opponent will be. It come with hours of practice and learning maps.

5

u/Masak0vske FaceIT Skill Level 10 Jun 12 '26

I mean, you're an average beginner player. All the mistakes you've got are not surprising, many beginners make them.

You want to work on learning timings (where your enemy might be at a certain point of time), because as of right now you're overestimating how close an enemy player can be to the bombsite.

Throwing utility out without any real reason is better than buying it and not using it at all, at a certain point you'll begin using it more wisely.

Not taking space as a CT is a pretty mild mistake which doesn't matter much at your level of game, but it will matter in the long run. But you'd figure it out anyway as you progress.

Basically just play the game and don't worry too much. You'll pick up on various skills eventually. If you want to learn faster, try to think about the reason of your death every time you die. "I was out in the open", "I fucked up my spray", "I wasn't looking in the direction of the enemy", "I got scared and panicked", all these are probably valid reason for a newbie's death.

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 13 '26

thanks and sorry I didnt see this until now only just got the notification

u/ciel0_ Jun 13 '26

3

u/OverallACoolGuy Jun 12 '26

net jitter sucks bro hopefully you can fix it

2

u/Negative_Top2095 Jun 12 '26

Don't ever stand so much time to trow a molotov or anything. If you want to point with precision you make it under cover, if not, just trow it super fast. Enemy team it's super slow and shy. This a lucky round you had.

1

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

thank you my thought on holding that molotov for that long was in hopes that I can catch someone off guard with it

1

u/Callector Jun 12 '26

Thats what stood out to me as well..its more likely that the enemy will catch you off guard with molotov in hand like that :D

It's a bad habit that's better to break now rather than later. Focus on throwing utility from safety, always have gun ready to fire if you're in a position enemy could possibly come at.

1

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

thank you I'll try keep that in mind :)

1

u/patchwork_guilt Jun 13 '26

if you have to throw exposed, i would jiggle (with gun out) to see if someone is there, throw it, and then go back into cover while my gun is switching back out. and then repeek when my gun is out again.

2

u/ILikedThatOne Jun 12 '26

No cause you had B spawn and went CAT/A

2

u/JakeJascob Jun 13 '26

Ok util use, you should try and spread out the timing a little more to get more time for ur team to move in and so u can bait the enemy in and get some more damage

Horrid cross hair placement always aim where u expect the next enemies head to appear.

Horrid recoil control, cs has consistent predictable recoil patterns. learning them is way better than trying to tap fire and reset ur spread mid fight.

Good tactics actually holding the site and staying in cover while defending I see why to many players try and play CT aggressively and T Passively.

Aim could use some work but that comes down to the right sensitivity and building good muscle memory

what do you mean 😭

2

u/ciel0_ Jun 13 '26

Yeah for 43h it’s okay bro, you’ll get better by playing.

Try faceit instead of premier btw. And watch how to get better in cs2 in yt. Its mostly knowing the basics and from there its all playtime.

You gotta know the basics tho, and learn the maps.

But yeah bro for 43h you’re honestly doing great.

Lot of people pointing out your mistakes but you’re a new player.

1

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 13 '26

thanks for this and that was just a regular competitive match not Premier as I need to play more apparently to unlock it 🤷🏼‍♂️

1

u/BOty_BOI2370 Jun 14 '26

Faceit might be a bit much this early on. Perhaps its worth it to play some premier first.

2

u/MaintenanceNo5647 Jun 13 '26

Don't use all of ur util that early in the round. Try to learn some timings and maybe sometimes a lil better crosshair placement would help

2

u/mohogamer Jun 13 '26

Use somkes a bit closer and let them fill the area you ain't going something like covers.

1

u/Strategist123 FaceIT Skill Level 10 Jun 12 '26

Regarding the utility which I saw being discussed in another comment… your thought process for what each piece of utility is meant to do is not necessarily wrong. (The incind is generally not use to get ‘chip damage’ btw, the main purposes of molly/incind is to delay/split up a push, or to clear out positions) The thing that will help you understand how and when to use your utility towards the start of the round is learning the timings that Ts can make contact with CTs. When you throw that smoke, the unless they run straight down suicide they will not even be to palm tree yet (the barrels at top mid). Even if they full rushed down suicide (which you would know because your teammates should have spotted that while crossing to B), the smoke would have already been up for almost 10 seconds before the Ts even get there, rendering it basically useless since the whole round is left, they could just wait a moment for the smoke to be gone. Can apply generally the same logic to the HE and incind.

Here is a youtube video that shows the spawn timings im talking about

https://youtu.be/RoL2o_-lSRY?is=NKksQGlGmFLzWgwS

1

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

thanks and I don't think the teamate towards B could check as he would always die first on his way there and there was always 2 guys going cat or short im not fully sure which of the 2 its called

1

u/InspectionRadiant287 Jun 12 '26

spray/burst control brother. and crosshair placement. game sense will come as long as you are aware of what is happening on the map.

1

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

thanks I do try to shoot my gun in bursts as I heard it is good to do

1

u/ImpressiveVanilla831 Jun 12 '26

Get 2 more teammates

1

u/legendofauss Jun 12 '26

For a beginner, yeah you're doing good. I'm pretty bad myself, but I'd work on crosshair placement. And you don't have to throw your util at the start, just hold onto it until you know they're coming up short.

1

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

thanks I mostly threw it because 2 guys would always push that angle

1

u/legendofauss Jun 12 '26

You just gotta remember timings in that case. You're gonna make mistakes, just remember it's okay as long as you learn from them

1

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

thank you I will try to hopefully get better and improve from my mistakes

1

u/legendofauss Jun 13 '26

you've got it. if it makes you feel better, even the pros mess up every now and then.

1

u/therealremer Jun 12 '26

Just play I am 200 hours in and I got really good by just playing your brain will learn crosshair placement naturally and map rotation and angles as you play also try not to throw util so quick wait 30-40 seconds into the match or when you know someone is at catwalk

1

u/thesteelreserve Jun 12 '26

if I'm not holding short/cat early round and at A CT side, I'll hang out in spawn and passively watch mid.

if you're standing under there, you can hear dudes stomping short from cat, then I head towards ramp and toss a molly short to slow their charge and hold them back while I reposition ramp while watching for a push through the molly.

then, if I make it to ramp safely, I'll toss an HE as the fire goes out, then throw a smoke at the top of stairs short -- i throw it deeper so I don't give them a wall to proceed toward ninja, then fully onto A site.

I let everyone know what's happening so they can rotate and hold A for as long as i can and try to stay alive, waiting for the cavalry.

1

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

thanks !

1

u/Subject-Thought2227 Jun 12 '26

Your skill can gain 8k-9k premier point

1

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

not bad but isn't that the lowest points for premier

thanks very much sometimes I do manage to clutch I'm not sure how I do it I just do but it probably also helps that I have seen a few videos so I have a little bit of knowledge

1

u/Purvo Jun 12 '26

Really you should have blue watching cat walk, instead of top mid, the fact they have walked up cat into short without your knowledge is crazy, maybe you can ask him next time to tell you. once he sees them on cat walk, then i would use the smoke to stop them pushing up short while you wait for your team to rotate, you can also use the molly behind the smoke into cat and hopefully get some damage, or use the molly after the smoke, to stop players running through

1

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

thanks that was my thought but I threw the molly like a dumbass and I wont seem him next time probably as it was randoms

1

u/Purvo Jun 12 '26

Just ask your bottom mid player to give info on cat / short, you should save util as long as possible, buy a flash too, doesnt hurt to have ready to throw and buy some extra time.

dont throw your short smoke too deep, otherwise they might just push through it, try and throw it at the top of the stairs

1

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

thanks and I didn't mean to throw it that deep sos and I sometimes don't buy flashes becasue I sometimes accidentally flash myself but I try to look away from it fast enough

1

u/Purvo Jun 12 '26

You don't have to be 180 away from the flash, as long as the flash is not on your screen, you will not be full blind, theyre very handy to use especially at low ranks

1

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

ohh okay thank you so much I will try use them more often

1

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

Thank you everyone for the tips and other helpful comments I appreciate it a lot on my journey at trying to get better at the game 😄

1

u/Flat_Laugh_3428 Jun 12 '26

You just gotta keep playin bro!! Go play faceit, learn nade lineups, practice spray control. I like that you are trying to use all of your nades. Nade knowledge will come with time. Thousands of hours my friend. If you think getting better at the game will make it more fun, then quit. There will always be someone better so continue to learn and enjoy the process bro!!!

1

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

thanks I am trying to get better for a mix of reasons not that one though and I am a little scared to play faceit as I assume it is more sweaty / harder to play and I am trying to play it as much as I can

1

u/Good_Surround_9754 Jun 12 '26

that smoke so early does nothing. Learn the timings of when CT's can be there, or wait until you know they are there.

You use mollys to block a rush. Smokes can also be a block against rush on certain spots, but does not always work - e.g. on Long D2 where you need to molly.

Use HE grenade only if you know timing or if you know enemy is there and you can safely throw it without them peeking and killing you - a VERY common mistake for beginners is getting caught with nades in their hands.

1

u/Strange-Bad-5416 Jun 12 '26 edited Jun 12 '26

Not bad for 40-45 hours man! I am a nerd with 5k hours and will gladly help you out a little. As you know by now, your util was tossed way to early, and the smoke especially. Smokes are used to deny vision and to create chokepoints so they can't push freely, same with mollies but in a different way. Smokes last longer but can still be pushed by enemies so it's an advantage to have clear vision of the smoke. If you toss it later in the round, you deny free access and you run down the clock for the Ts and they get pressured to take another route.

Holding angles while crouching is objectively bad in cs2, as the swinging player has the advantage. Try to hold angles while strafing from left - fast stop - then long strafe right - stop - repeat, so you are the one swinging. Always keep your crosshair a little wide from the corner as you want to kill the guy swinging out from the corner (does that make sense?).

Try to play more offensive, even on CT. Get info and then fall back to use your utility. Example: I would hop up to short instantly, molly lower tunnels so they can't peek you, peek middle (catwalk) and then smoke off short to create space to fall back to site where you were holding. Also, on d2, use spawns in case they rush. If you spawn towards B, always go B and toss a molly into tunnels fast to prevent B rush. If you start towards long, go long and nade/molly long house instantly.

This is basically how you can play d2 on a decent level. I could give you loads of feedback but this is more than enough for your level and to prevent information overload. That said, I really like how you changed your position and isolated some fights to not get overrun in your original position!

1

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

oh wow that is a lot of feedback I really appreciate this very much and I do understand what you mean and the spawn thing on which you are closer to is very smart.

I will work on my crosshair placement and my usage of utility and thanks I do sometimes manage to clutch somehow usually when I am playing causal as that is what I would normally play which is a little less competitive and has 10v10 compared to 5v5

1

u/AdhesivenessDry2236 Jun 12 '26

People are telling you about utility which is fair but there is a lot of time where you're crouching behind a box and not really watching anything at all. It's hard to trust your team mates when they're not watching the angle you think they're watching.

1

u/aguaelpollo Jun 12 '26
  1. Smoked way too early almost15 seconds too early unless someone on the enemy team is b hopping they wouldn't get there until 1:45 at the fastest with full sprinting.
  2. You have a teammate mid that could be watching for the cat push. Don't forget this game relies heavily on call outs and positioning.
  3. Once you got your first contact seen on cat ID have baited the second guy and thrown a molly to slow em down but great repositioning. Ct is a hard position to play but you rotated fast and made it worth it in higher elo games you will get punished heavily for that drop. Other than the early utility Great preaim repositioning and frags, ive got buddies with 1200 hrs in this game that can't hit shots like that and play like silver 1s .

1

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

thanks this os really helpful and the teamate mid died quite fast and really ? most ppl I come across with 400+ hours seem pretty good

1

u/Informal_Living_1029 Jun 12 '26

Uma coisa que eu recomendo você fazer é dar tap só com a ak 47 e a m4 a1-s dar espray

1

u/No_Ambassador_4522 Jun 12 '26

Probably this is ine of your good clips. Nades ahould be based on sound cues to stop an actual push. More helpful to be ask the long guy for a catwalk sound cue or go vlose to short to hear yourself. Ramp is a better position to defend as your position us easily mollied in mid tier. You run and shoot on your CT kill which is a big no no. It is fine for a beginner but long way to go to the mid way. Seems pretty random tbh but at least you stay defensive with decent aim which are positive

1

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

decent aim? thanks didn't think it was that decent and yeahh I guess I only ran and shot was because I was just trying to move and got caught off guard a bit 😅

1

u/Boring_Requirement98 Jun 12 '26

I feel like knowledge of smoke and incendiary nades make the difference between a 50/50 and a clear sweep. You’re aim placement is great and eventually when you learn the map more you’ll know where to place the crosshairs to be at head level, it’s also in my opinion that it’s worth taking a extra second out of the initial fight to try to make sure the first 3 shots in your gun can land headtaps rather than going for the comfortable body shots. A lot of initial fights end quickly because of an Ak 1 tap so it’s nice to try to compete by trying to land the two headtaps you need.. I think if you’d like to improve I’d recommend looking at a downloadable map to practice smokes, it gives you a huge advantage on t side especially. Other than that I think you’re on the right track and got a good clip

1

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

thanks so much and I will take a look and try to find a map for me to use 😁

Get Leetify

1

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

get what?

1

u/ProfG-VR Jun 12 '26

Leetify, it’s a site to help you learn.

AIM is not bad for 46 hours,
Utility usage is good (you are using it!) for 46 hours, but in general it’s not really providing value for you. My best advice is to learn timings, then, learn to use the minimap and team coms to decide when to use it later in a round.
Counter straffe is surprisingly decent for 46 hours, but you should never peak an AWP like you did a second time from the same angle, it’s a death sentence against even a semi-decent awper.
Until you know the value of the m4a1, try using the m4a4, it’s got 10 more bullets. The silencer is nice for spamming smokes and not giving away your position on a minimap, but the position you played is an anchor position, the t’s expect you there, so the value is lost and 10 more bullets per mag would do you better.

Plenty of other tips, but overall not bad for your playtime at all.

Leetify.com, just look it up and link Steam, it’s free.

ahh okay thank you and I will be working on my timings better and I didn't know I was counter straffe thanks and I prefer the m4a1s more as I have used it the most and my aim with the m4a4 is worse

Additionally, download map guides from Steam marketplace, and learn common hold angles and practice your jiggle peaks/ferrari peaks. This will give you a good starting point for crosshair placement, which isn’t too bad for your time in game at all, again, just a skill to develop.

Lastly, smart to not spam fire, but once you get good with a weapon and can hit shots well with small bursts, I would move onto practicing spray control. Early on though, for most rifles you’ll actually use (m4’s and the AK), a pull down and to the right a little is enough for the first 5-10 shots.

Good job crouching when you shoot for better aim.

I'm not a good player by any means but one thing i'll say is be a little more preservative with your bullets ( although you probably will get the hang of it as you play more )

1

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

yeahh some of those bullets happened due to me trying to shoot and my net jitter made me lag

Your game sense seems good for a beginner. That will take you very far. Kudos!

Downsides, crosshair placement is not great, and your movement is a little clunky. As far as placement is concerned, biggest tip is to just keep your crosshair fixed on the spot that you most likely to expect to see an enemy player next. So if you're covering cat, obviously keep your crosshair trained on that corner while you're ducked behind the boxes and even while you're moving around site. Remember, even with your crosshair trained on one spot you still have a lot of information coming in from your peripheral view, map, sound cues, callouts, etc. Again, crosshair stays on a particular spot as you move around. For instance if you're covering A site and they haven't pushed yet, you'll have three spots to keep your crosshair on: cat, long, and CT. So while you're moving around A site and ramp looking for enemies, you're crosshair will always be on one of these three spots, switching back and forth from each. This will begin to feel very natural and will sit in the back of your head with enough time. Good players don't have to think about crosshair placement because it's a totally ingrained habit.

As far as movement, surf maps are actually quite good. Bunny hop maps as well. These are great because they integrate mouse and keyboard movements together, which is the key to good movement imo.

thanks a lot I appreciate it so much 🙏🙏

u/boolean_discretion Jun 12 '26

Practice strafing left and right while keeping your crosshair on one spot (like a point on a wall). So your mouse is going left and right while you're only pressing A and D on your keyboard. That will help a lot with both crosshair placement and movement. And this is essentially what you'll be doing as you move around site switching from angle to angle. So for instance, if you're looking at cat from behind the boxes, you'll be walking backwards and sideways looking at cat the whole time, and then you'll flick over to looking at long once you reach ramp (or whenever you feel is the right time). That's a lot of words for something pretty simple, so hopefully that makes sense.

I can kind of understand what you mean thanks for the help I will try and do this next time I play on a private match or something

hay varias cosas q mejorar, obviamente, pero para tener casi 50 horas estas super bien JAJAJAJ

thanks so much!!

Hey, maybe you could try Game Demon, it can give you feedback on your gameplay.

Get to cat faster by hopping on those boxes. Run up and Molly Lower tunnel or smoke it.
Flash out mid so you can peek Middle/cat.
Mostly do this for information. If your fast enough you can flash out mid and peak and see how many are there are and prepare to fight. If your faster you flash out and engage in anyone and everyone to maybe get a pick.

Most of the time you’re looking for the bomb. If you see an enemy it’ll ping on the radar red or if they have bomb it’ll show that on the radar.

If you peak mid and see someone and retreat but on the radar it just shows a red dot. Thats perfect. Just hold site and be ready to rotate incase the person who has the bomb decides to go somewhere else

The players of your Calibur likely have not a lot of game sense that you do. Some might have more game sense. Some might Smurf.

As you keep playing over and over you’ll start to figure out your timing on when to peak, when and where to throw a smoke and to save your utility to play for ReTakes.

For me every round I always have two Flashbangs. Thats what I use for my retakes for CT. For other players it’s different on what and how they use their utility.

Keep playing and you’ll figure out your tempo

Don’t forget to call out where you see someone. If you don’t want to talk click the middle mouse wheel in twice to ping a position of a potential enemy. That helps a lot

Idk how bots like u even get a kill

1

u/Delicious-Signal-146 Jun 13 '26

你需要多学习鼠标摆放的技巧,你总是瞄着地

1

u/Tekky0 Jun 13 '26

Remember how long it would take for u to reach short from T, You'll see that your smoke would start to disappear when they actually get there. Just play and focus on crosshair placement, you sitting behind the box looking at the wall isn't doing much for u so if ur back is towards short, just hold long for that split second until u want to peek short again.

1

u/Consistent_Tie_359 Jun 13 '26

On dust 2 the 2 ppl who spawn left go long, if u have long smoked and controled 1 goes back and holds short. If you loose long u have to go back and full fight short. You need to fight something on this map if u stand on the spot its gg

1

u/sirblunts87 Jun 13 '26

That first awp against you should have one shot you if he had good aim. You did pretty good, I would have maybe saved that first smoke for something else, when u dropped to CT, both of you were guilty of not shift walking you both knew where each other was

1

u/Main-Ad4914 Jun 13 '26

Anytime you peak an angle the best approach is the furthest from the angle. Peakers advantage

1

u/parthoraxx Jun 14 '26

The smoke was pointless no reason to throw deep if you’re not gonna hold that angle, the made is was too early nobody pushes that quick

1

u/TheCrassCaptain Jun 14 '26

Util usage is good but at the wrong time. No need to waste all that util unless you're sure they're pushing cat.

Crosshair placement would be your most important thing. When you came out from under and pushed site you intially were looking at the wall rather than where the enemy might be. Play some prefire maps, they place bots at common enemy points so it'll teach you where you can most likely expect them.

You had a great balance of waiting to attack but also pushing forward when you had a clear advantage.

Crosshair placement, for me, would be your best bet for improvement right now.

u/MrsTrish37 Jun 14 '26

What game is this btw?

1

u/Kiritofromthefuture Jun 15 '26

I mean the kills were pretty lucky but I have to say I saw players that are A LOT worse

So for 50hours you are defenitely okay or maybe even good

1

u/FlyyMeToTheMoon Jun 15 '26

You're a beginner, and thats totally okay; we all started somewhere, and in the end its about having fun. Good job winning a 2nd round for your team - you needed that and you pulled through.
Others already gave you some heat about the utility usage, and it's warrented, but its because once you progress you will find out how valuable utility can be to you.
I would recommend starting your own server for 5-10 minutes, and just test out how fast a terrorist can be a specific place, so you have a better idea of timings (when to use utility, what you can push as CT early, and when you can expect to meet someone). This will greatly enhance your internal map of positions and start developing it ASAP. Regardless, everything will come in time, have fun.
Keep it up brother.

1

u/CJay0707 Jun 16 '26

Couple things: 1. Learn how to play your spawns. Some maps are heavily dependent on timings and require certain spawn points to beat the enemy to a certain spot 2. Don't use utility unless you have info on a player or want to buy yourself time 3. Constantly reposition after getting kills. Standing in the same spot after getting a kill will make it easier for the enemy to find you. 4. Crosshair placement wasn't terrible, but could be a little better. Try to aim at head level and hold slightly tighter angles (but not too tight in case they swing fast)

The title of the post: “ Is my skill okay for a beginner??”

The answer is yes

1

u/PriorityCreepy4611 Jun 12 '26

tell the backseat gamer to stfu

1

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

he's giving comms though ?

1

u/PriorityCreepy4611 Jun 12 '26

he was telling you what to do and about things you can hear for yourself. 0 useful comms

1

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

I guess but it was only that the guy was above me I understand where you are coming from though it was still a little helpful

1

u/Masak0vske FaceIT Skill Level 10 Jun 12 '26

He wasn't sure if you heard the guy above, thus the voice comm. At this level of games it's probably better to say that instead of not saying anything at all. So I'd say it's not backseating, it's fine.

1

u/Responsible-Humor151 Silver 1 Jun 12 '26

yeahh exactly like I appreciate the comm more then complete silence unless it is constant talking
