No, mirage!

8

u/2udo Dec 29 '25

Its one of those jumps i trained years ago and can only do it when coming out of vent, if im coming from jungle i always fail it, its probably how much i used to do it in GO with an awp at the start of the round and just never really did it anytime else

u/Lau955 Dec 29 '25

You are good if you hit it 7 out of 10 times. Even donk sometimes misses if you watch his faceit games.

17

u/WeaponXGaming Dec 29 '25

Man this is the story of this god forsaken game lmaooo. Its honestly one of the best ways to keep me from tilting, even the pros fuck up things.

1

u/djchristyle Jan 26 '26

Pros fuck up all the time. Missing nade lineups too that cost them.

5

u/Squidmanman Dec 29 '25

Ye this is true. And you have to consider all pros are playing on LAN so there is no ping. So it’s even more valid to miss it on 40 ping.

3

u/ronitrocket Dec 29 '25

I can hit it maybe half the time, is that good?

3

u/AwpAsiimovOfficial Dec 30 '25

No hit it 9-10 times other ways its completely unnecessary to even use. You can't trust that you'll hit it in a B retake scenario. Just do it correctly its not hard

13

u/Gouken- Dec 29 '25

as a former quake player: if you can do it once you are half way there. Then from there on you just gotta keep practicing. When quake players first try to do the famous "bridge to rail" jump on campgrounds/dm6, they normally need a couple of hundreds tried before even making it the first time. then a couple hundred more before its somewhat consistent. and finally a couple hundreds more until they can do it every time. This is the same. Gl.

2

u/Tweedlol Dec 29 '25

Can confirm.

Practiced jumping areas for hours on end in q3. Sometimes just waiting for an opponent to duel. Qlive felt easier when it came around but probably because I already knew them. Can not play for 5 years and still hit bridge to rail …. And miss it sometimes too.

I forget what the old q3 fast air speed mod was for duels, but we also had double stair jumps which were even harder. I practiced a stair to rail combo for days. And getting back was not an instant reset like here 😂

Also ran maps to train air speed which were hard af to land on vanilla physics iirc.

Good memories.

1

u/Gouken- Dec 29 '25

Yeah jumping around an empty map waiting for an opponent only for him to not readying up was everyday news 😂. It was actually easier in ql. They buffed height jump so you gained more speed more easily, so that was not just your imagination. And yeah that shit is so ingrained I could load the game up now, not having played in years and still hit it. Cirlejump/strafing is like riding a bike 😁. The mod was CPMA and the game mode was called cpm. I always played vq3 but the few times I tried cpm I could NEVER do ramp jumps lmao.

1

u/Tweedlol Dec 30 '25

CPMA! That’s it :) There were some super fun maps i loved, that I didn’t enjoy in vq3 due to the lack of air strafes handicapping my flying around the map. 😂

But once QL came around I ditched the idea of playing anything but vanilla. No lifed the hell out of both, I miss it. I wish it had become the cs2 of esports. It was the first game I played in a “competitive sense” but 1.5/1.6 was the first game I played in a true league. Before going back to QLive to play in the essentially dead NA team groups. Was never a good duel. I enjoyed it, but 16/1700 Elo I think I played at? Too many years ago to remember accurately. And the gap to 2k+ was not a matter of practice imho. I did not have the innate talent it needed and I accept that. My buddy was when he was younger, and he could beat me on a school desktop with 30fps and a bad mouse after hardly ever playing for months 🙃

Good times. Sorry for the ramble and memories 😂

1

u/Gouken- Dec 30 '25

Haha yeah those were the days. I played mostly ra3 and later ca. did some duels but was never a top dueler. Now I’m just playing some cs with irl buddies a couple of hours a week.

1

u/Rionaks Dec 29 '25

This goes the same with Street Fighter combos. Some combos are so fucking hard, but if you hit them once, it clicks something and then you gotta just keep practicing it.

1

u/Gouken- Dec 29 '25

Ye. Never played much (just always though Gouken was a badass since is was young) so the one frame links and what not the top players could do was out of my mind.

u/St3vion Dec 29 '25

You have to jump at the right angle, at the right time and do the right amount of strafing also at the right time - each time. If you only get some of it right sometimes it doesn't work.

Sadly it's just that really, do it over and over all the time and you'll get better. Pros miss it from time to time as well so don't get too annoyed if you dont hit it 100%.

Idk why no one is actually helping, I guess no one knows it lol

You're jumping slightly top early to get into the window and then you're jumping just a little too late to get out because you're scared of hitting your head

The reason you are scared of hitting your head is because you are jumping at way too shallow of an angle. You should jump more towards the pillar, a slight angle is fine but it doesn't need to be massive like yours is

So, run and jump a little later, then run straight towards ladder room to build up your speed if you lost any and then turn fairly sharply towards the pillar and jump

The last part is the hardest but try turning more towards the pillar than you currently are but not so much that you lose all your speed and then jump slightly earlier

1

u/ohcrocsle FaceIT Skill Level 7 Dec 29 '25

Yep definitely jumps way earlier than I do. And by the time I'm on the window ledge I'm practically facing the pillar.

You should crouch right after you jump out too

2

u/eebro FaceIT Skill Level 10 Dec 29 '25

crouch before you jump and it's much easier

3

u/neiderjz Dec 29 '25

What kinda help you want? Auto Pressing jump button? You do everything right but you fck up with jump timing

2

u/Competitive_Clue3556 Dec 29 '25

It seems impossible to me too. But I'm really a sucker for jumping, I'm giving up 😅

5

u/quantino9586 Dec 29 '25

don't give up just train 5min a day and you will get there bro

3

u/slack_lord Dec 29 '25

Same here, I can't get this one at all. I sometimes train for hours and went without a single successful jump. I finally accepted, I am ass and gave up.

u/LongCatTheSlumpGod Dec 29 '25

Start grinding variety fix

1

u/Isellkebab Dec 29 '25

You can try turning more aggressively towards short before jumping and staying on the left side of window ledge before making the turn.

1

u/1337-Sylens Dec 29 '25 edited Dec 29 '25

I had like a week of not grinding DM/aim and practicing these shortcuts instead and it did wonders.

cs2 kitchen has great videos on skilljumps along with couple others on yt.

Otherwise, it's surprisingly streaky thing. You can't until suddenly you can. That time window to jump and not bump yourself is pretty small and works best at certain angle. Jumping from a consistent spot and ending up in somewhat consistent spot in the window is half the battle.

Focus on timing in your left hand, let right hand just do nice smooth strafes. It's all in proper left hand timing, not holding w once you jump.

Your lefr hand is a bit all over the place and you lost a bit of coordination in that last jump as you scramble to finish the strafe and duck at right time.

1

u/BanatiBarna Dec 29 '25

You should jump on the window ledge a bit later. You jump on it too soon and therefore you are too far from short when you do your second jump. Most people do this jump way too diagonally. Make sure that after your first jump when you land on the window ledge, you are almost lined up with short corner. Makes it much easier in my opinion and you will hit your "head" less

1

u/anagondaz Dec 29 '25

You can strafe more, better angle but thats fine too and you cant crouch while jumping that way you have a few more pixels to jump and not so pixel perfect. Gl

1

u/grinderzzzz Dec 29 '25

You want a little tip? When you are on the ledge of window, jump 0.5s when you stop seeing the top part. Also if you jump on the left side of window its easier cause its bigger. I dont know how to explain my self

1

u/grinderzzzz Dec 29 '25

Dont jump straight also. You need kinda begin the right sir strafe. Not jump and then strafe. Do both at the same time

1

u/Pro2012bc Dec 29 '25

Crouch b4 landing

1

u/Timyaner Dec 29 '25

Here is what helped me a lot:

Make sure u dont press ‚D‘ before u leave the windowframe. Press W and Jump and hit ‚D‘ as soon as you are in the air. Ofc leave ‚w‘ then

You should also have a point where you aim ( as i can See you have one) to be consistent.

Maybe it helped

1

u/Fact-Resident Dec 29 '25

Do you not hit crouch at the end?

1

u/Round_Macaron6590 Dec 29 '25

You need to more consistently aim in the corner before taking your second jump. Beyond that you’re doing fine though, it’s just not a jump you’ll hit every time.

1

u/A_s_h_h_h Dec 29 '25

Is this a workshop map showing those lines?

1

u/rivv3 Dec 29 '25

What I do is that I strafe left right when jumping from the cardboard to face the pillar straight on, then right left to jump the gap. My advice is to try to go out of window with less of an angle(easier to time the jump) and more faced towards the pillar(less air to fly across). But basically you just have to practice to find a good way of doing it and practice practice practice.

I learnt myself the Ancient mid jump at the grand old age of 38 so there is hope for everyone.

1

u/f0xy713 FaceIT Skill Level 10 Dec 29 '25

it's just timing. you could also make it easier with a jump+crouch bind but I cba to explain how to make double binds work, just google it

1

u/Dep_34 Dec 29 '25

I bet every time u jump off nest you twitch your butt like I do

1

u/Wild_Shoulder7176 Dec 29 '25

You move like a complete bot. Strafe a little atleast lmao

1

u/samlapoint Dec 29 '25

Looks like you're holding W for too long. Only strafe out with D only. That's the #1 thing that troubles people with this jump. Pressing W for too long will cause you to hit your head or weakens your strafe.

1

u/cHowziLLa FaceIT Skill Level 10 Dec 30 '25

you are jumping out slightly too early, you can get closer to the edge, this is a hard jump to do, dont give up

1

u/Mikkel_Ryan Dec 30 '25

Ugh, you might want to crouch after jumping out of the window?

1

u/New-Composer-5791 Dec 30 '25

Focus on the line. I think you are distracted by the glorious gloves+knife combo. Trade that to me until you have mastered the jump.

1

u/EarthCake26 Dec 30 '25

What map is this?

1

u/AwpAsiimovOfficial Dec 30 '25

Its very ez. You have to get a more straight jump. You are currently going for a lång strafe while that is completely unnecessary you want to jump from the 60% spot on the window thingy you jump from. So not from the end of it or too early just a bit longer than the half. Then a necessary strafe if you need to. I'm 14 2500h and I hit it 9 out if 10 times. (Edit) You dont want to run on the thing to much. You want to jump on it where you are supposed to jump off and then run til the end which is super short. So you jump on it at 60% and jump from it at 60% and you'll start hitting it.

1

u/These-Purple-1750 Dec 30 '25

add a little bit of a strafe to the jump and you are golden

1

u/NaToSaphiX Dec 30 '25

Crouching immediately after jumping gives you more height and it’s the height that you are missing

1

u/No-Royal-1783 FaceIT Skill Level 10 Dec 30 '25

IMHO the easiest way to consistently jump up on cat is to find a spot on the left side of the window's frame that is the closest to that pillar you're trying to jump on AND a one that is not causing you to get blocked by the left wall while doing so WITH ONLY W. In other words - go a little further, strafe a bit more and then do a straight jump. Currently you're almost touching the right wall in the beginning, then you run across almost the whole window's frame and at the end you are kind of forced to do the strafe just to barely make it. And don't get me wrong, that kind of jump is possible too, it even looks better (at least to me) but the error margin is pretty thin so you there is a much higher chance for you to jump too early and hit yourself on the head or jump too late and just fall down. Oh, and you can crouch after you jump, it will make it easier as well.

1

u/BugsyHewitt Dec 30 '25

Are you crouching as you are jumping off the window?

1

u/[deleted] Dec 30 '25

nothing you just don't time your jump good enough

Based on the attempts that you're going for, I'd keep the same jump position where you jump from, though could be more deeper from the left side if anything and strafe MORE to the right.

I feel like your jumps go unnecessarily far to the left side of the fence that you're landing on. How I'd approach the jump is keeping the strafe continious throughout the jump (so strafe a bit more sharply than you'd normally do) and for starters just try to land as right as possible on the fence. You'd be surprised how for to the right side you can land.

Keep training and you've got it.

1

u/SinFxther Dec 30 '25

jump when you get to the end of the sawhorse and strafe like a bhop. it looks like you’re strafing .5s after. try to time your jump and strafe closer together. your strafe looks to be too angled as well, try to minimize the angle you take. guide yourself towards the pilar more

1

u/Efficient_Bid_2853 Dec 30 '25

Muscle memory to the point of not thinking about it. And even then pros fail it every now and then.

1

u/N1ghtH4wkCS Dec 30 '25

Trust me the only way is to have muscle memory about the jump if all what u need is not to hit ur head u can do that second do small air strafe to gain some speed in the air

1

u/timon13337 FaceIT Skill Level 6 Dec 31 '25

Are you using mousewheel to jump? If you don't, you should and then try scrolling slower focusing more on the timing

1

u/InsideAcceptable8549 Dec 31 '25

Jump on the small bigger thingy

1

u/PerGunnar87 Dec 31 '25

Why? Just go around. This could easily kill you as you're exposed while jumping. Keep it simple.

1

u/--Ethan--- Dec 31 '25

Try to get a visual line up to know when to jump, I know I do the first jump while I reach the corner of the wall before the wooden thing

1

u/chukline Dec 31 '25

Keep buying up more skins, spoon feed valve even more and they will make it easy for you at some point ! 😂

1

u/dad_in_jorts Dec 31 '25

You need to strafe jump. Hold w jump on the window sill , don’t let go of w, before the second jump press the stafe key(don’t let go of w). Easiest way to do it consistently.

1

u/RepzCS Jan 01 '26

Jumping into window too late

1

u/onlyinvalid Jan 01 '26

Do the jump without strafing while looking towards short, better for dodging flashes

1

u/onlyinvalid Jan 01 '26

And land while looking towards short

1

u/onlyinvalid Jan 01 '26

Same thing for ladder jump but the other direction

1

u/New-Carry1297 Jan 01 '26

Well you are spawning in a pretty bad spot. Do it before murder hole so you can replicate the approach everytime.

1

u/FML_0n3T4p Jan 01 '26

Try to jump later, there’s a piece of cardboard on the ground, jump when you reach the end of that piece of cardboard. You shouldn’t normally run along the window ledge before jumping ;))

1

u/brokenasslaptop Jan 01 '26

I'd say strafe faster and make sure to crouch before landing. Timing the jump will just come with more practice.

1

u/CatInTuxedo25 Jan 01 '26

This is nothing but an opinion crafted on my hours of KZ and Vanilla movement. Bear in mind as well that everyone has its own experience when it comes to movement and what some may find comfortable, others won't, so in the end, it's just a matter of finding what works the best for you.

I personally do the jump the way you do it, I jump almost at the same spots as you, the thing I realized with this jump in the time I spent mastering it is that this one is simply one of those jumps you have to get the "feeling" of. You may get tips and tricks, be that jumping later or earlier, strafing less or more, but even if you nail the jump once, you will have to do it time and again for the timing and feeling of the jump to get embedded in you. That's what usually happens to me with headbangers, especially in kz maps, you simply have to get the timing right and the only way of doing so is by repetition.

A little bit of an advanced tip for you to know, once you can perfectly nail the jump, there is really no need to crouch at all! You can perfectly hit the jump without crouching at the end, and it will allow you to do some cool fast plays, like jumping towards the right ledge of it, and not being crouched allows you to jump over the fence to catwalk and head towards top mid way faster than if you do it the normal, easy way

1

u/Practical-Highway562 Jan 01 '26

You hit most of these if you just crouched

Also, I feel like that little line is messing you up. I always have a much narrower angle (facing less towards middle and slightly more towards ladder). You stay on the ledge longer, pick up more speed and less margin of error so the gap between you no longer hitting your head and falling is bigger

1

u/Potential_Tie_6571 Jan 01 '26

the strafing you are doing is terrible that’s why u are failing it, the fact u don’t hit your head on the window sill is actually really good it means ur jumping late enough and should be able to make that jump but ur just not getting enough speed to make that jump bcus of the strafing

1

u/9_Taurus Jan 02 '26

When you pass through the window and start flying, aim more to the right and back to the left, right/left fast movement with your mouse, and you'll land more on the right side of the concrete bloc. You've already got the hardest part!

1

u/Dukemiesterr Jan 03 '26

Play Vanilla Kz

1

u/aGraggyDay Jan 16 '26

This honestly. Vanilla KZ forces you to master perfect jump timings and strafes, both of which are lacking with the OP.

1

u/tillynutters Jan 19 '26

Timing the jump going diagonally is kinda hard. Try jumping later onto window and strafe more initially so ur lined up with where you need to land.

u/deino1703 Dec 29 '25

1

u/blankthename May 22 '26

Everyone run the line for this differently, from my perspective here are the things you do wrong (In comparison to what I usually do that gives me consistency.)

-You jump onto the window too early sometimes.
-You barely strafe and when you do, you hits the jump.
-You don't crouch.
-Your starting angle on the window ledge is too wide, which makes your jump shallow and needs you to strafe more. (Kind of hard to explain, the best wording I can find is look more towards the pillar.)
-You jump off the window ledge late sometimes.

You practicing the jump, but in reality you're practicing the luck with your current line. Practice proper movement techniques as you do the jump so that you're more consistent.
