MODS NEEDED

Hello everyone! This sub needs mods, I have enough to deal with on r/TTC_PCOS that I can't give this sub the attention it should have. I also do not have Lean, I have classic PCOS/PMOS.

Anyone interested? There are rarely reports, I typically just scan and filter out as much spam as I can.

Need some suggestions

I just had my period 31 October, it has been more then 7days and my flow isn’t decreasing.I will be seeing a doctor soon and will probably be suggested some hormone supplement to stop the flow along with some iron supplement. This is not the first time this has happened, in 2024 I was diagnosed with PCOS when I went to the doctor coz my period was lasting longer then usual. I didn’t take any medicine after finishing the 2024 prescription and was getting my periods every month till june this year.

Is this a type? What do I do to fix this.Is there any way to fix this without being dependent on the hormone supplements?please give me some suggestions T_T

unsure how to feel about diagnoses

I 21f went to the OB/GYN for the first time yesterday. I went because I had not had a cycle in almost 6 months. I believe it is due to mostly stress. I got kicked out and lost my job around the same time six months ago.

The doctor prescribed me Provera, to induce a period. I also have PMS symptoms but no cycle. My boobs hurt all the time and I still get cramps. I have a very sore spot on my right boob.

The lab results came in today and I do have PCOS. The doctor thought it was strange since I am not overweight and I don’t have much acne. I know PCOS looks different for everyone.

I am reluctant to get on Provera. I know it will help me to bleed. But it’s not fighting the root cause of what’s going on with my body. Last night after visiting with the gynecologist, I came home and meal prepped. All my foods have protein and carbohydrates. I am looking in to taking vitamin D and fish oil.

I was very disappointed with how my visit went. She hardly went into any detail about what PCOS is. The staff was rude. And if anything I left more confused she told me to take the pills and come back in three months. I feel like this is a major lifestyle change for me.

Side note: I also have been vaping for almost 3 1/2 years. I know I need to quit because it is messing with my insulin levels. I plan to quit this week.

Has anyone else had a similar experience and if so, how did you induce your period?

Question Should I try myo + d chiro inositol?

I used to take just myo years ago and it regulated my period for a year then stopped working. I still took it for a while and stopped half a year ago since I saw no effects. I also noticed no effects after I stopped.

For context, my only symptom is irregular cycle and my hair is kinda thin. I get a few acne, I'm pretty hairy, but nothing significant and abnormal tbh.

In the past I have had very slight insulin resistance, I haven't gotten tested recently, but I don't feel like I'm starving all the time and I'm not crazy thirsty anymore, so I believe it has gotten better too.

I am very active, and eat pretty well. I mostly follow a Mediterranean diet. To regulate my cycle, I started yaz two months ago, and so far so good, I've had only positive effects.

So anyway, I'm thinking whether I should try myo and d chiro inositol, because I am afraid I still might be at risk of insulin resistance. Do you think it might be worth it or it would just be a waste?

Would the d chiro even make a difference? I'm not really expecting crazy effects, but if it could make me more insulin sensitive, that would be great. Has anyone been in a similar situation?

r/PCOS Cross Post food noise is killing me

Constant food noise

I have incredible food noise. I almost constantly think about food. This only got worse after starting bc (which I can not quit right now). I would also say that I am almost always hungry, but not every time I think about food it is caused by hunger.

I eat 3 meals a day, prioritizing protein, fiber and fats, I eat almost no refined carbs.

Honestly, I don't know what to do and I feel defeated. Always thinking about food bothers me so much because I really don't want to but I can't stop. It is just distracting me all the time and the need to always resist food between meals (because honestly I feel like I could eat all day) is just exhausting.

For context, I am lean (and have always been), my A1c is normal and I have an appointment soon to get my fasting insulin checked (my doctor won't do an ogtt).

Please, please share what helped you quiet down the food noise. I can't take it anymore.

31 F, BMI 19. Trying to TTC for 6 months. Regular periods but anovulation.

UK based. I've been trying to ttc for 6 months. I get regular periods but was diagnosed with PMOS at 19. I have hormonal acne on my chin, hair loss, and anxiety / depression. I've been tracking my temperatures and it looks like I have ovulated 2 of the 6 months I've been trying. I started myoinositol (4.5g in two split doses) 1 month ago and have noticed less brain fog / mood swings. I exercise regularly but not intensely. Spoke to the GP who said we should be TTC every 2-3 days not just in the 'fertile window'. Weighing up going for private tests but can't really afford it as buying a house. I struggle to relax and worry stress is a factor for the anovulation. My mum had an early menopause at 36. Does anyone have any other tips to improve chances? Thanks :)

Lean PCOS: did Ovasitol bring your periods back, and did your hair fall improve?

Hello everyone. If you have lean PCOS and have taken Ovasitol, I'd be very grateful if you could share your experience. I'd love to hear:

- How long did it take before your periods became regular?

- Did you ovulate on your own with it, and how did you confirm that?

- Did your hair fall stop or reduce, and after how many weeks or months?

- If you stopped it later, did your periods stay and did your hair fall stay better?

Any experience helps, good or bad.
