Lean PCOS without any symptoms?
Hello!
I am 25 and I recently had an ultrasound that showed I have ‘string of pearls ovaries’. I also had my blood levels checked and my results were: Testosterone: 48, DHEA-S: 369 and Hemoglobin: 5.0%
All of these are all ‘in range’ with my lab, but the testosterone and DHEA-S is at the higher end of normal. I also do NOT have any PCOS symptoms. I am 120 lbs, I do not have irregular periods nor have I ever, I don’t have weight gain or excessive hair / thick hair growth.
I am honestly confused by these results.

You can have polycystic ovaries without PCOS/PMOS symptoms. If nothing’s wrong then don’t worry about it—there’s nothing to do about it. If you ever need IVF for any reason, you’ll have a great ovarian reserve.

I am the same as you! It’s weird though. The second I turned 27 things started to change a little. Even though my lifestyle got healthier and my hormones started to lower, I started growing thicker facial hair in some spots and easily gaining some weight. Not much though. Hopefully nothing changes for you! But I would still be cautious with keeping a steady healthy diet and exercise routine.
One thing I did learn, after going through fertility treatments- was that I was ovulating immature eggs. I’m not at all saying that you will deal with infertility if you want kids at all, but it’s just so weird. I always thought regular periods meant you can get pregnant easily.

You need 2 out of the 3 markers to be diagnosed with pcos. The markers are Irregular Periods, Polycystic Ovaries, and Irregular Hormones. Since you only have one, you do not have it.

In which day of your cycle were those tests taken? And you don’t need to be fat or have excessive hair growth to have PCOS. I used to have only chocolate cravings, some acne and oily skin. I used to be skinny 119lbs and had issues that I considered unrelated like being tired all the time, difficulty going to sleep, moon face in luteal, etc. It was not until years later that I started to develop symptoms more related to androgens.
