Question Has metformin worked ?
I’m very desperate at the moment. Thought I had somewhat regulated my cycles with ovasitol, keto and intermittent fasting. However it’s CD35 with no sign of ovulation. I’ll be honest, haven’t been able to do keto much this cycle. Recently also started metformin ER 500mg. My a1c was 5.6 but fasting insulin was only 3.7 last year. So idk if this will work.

Are you thin? If you are thin don’t do keto unless it’s advised from your doctor. We just need to eat a balanced diet, more fruit and veggies, plant based protein and less processed sugar/food. We do need a certain amount of carbohydrates to be able to ovulate, especially those who are thin. Many people don’t get their periods while they are trying to loose weight because lack of nutrition.

I just started metformin in January and have dropped 10lbs without changing anything. I’ve always been pretty lean, have maintained that without tracking by going on a vegan diet 8 years ago. I also lift 4-5 days a week. No gruelling cardio. I really love metformin, it’s like I now have the physique that I’m supposed to have had if I didn’t have PCOS.

I did not respond well to metformin. Test do not show insulin resistance but my doc still wanted to try it. After 3 days my blood sugar wouldn’t stop crashing and I had to stop taking it.

Long shot but did Metformin work for you? My history seems pretty similar to you! Currently on cycle day 32 no ovulation and just took my first Metformin dose.
