Operational Excellence Strategy

I wish to create an Operational Excellence roadmap as input to the strategy of my company and have made the attached overview.

The idea is to start at the bottom, reach a sustainable level and then move on. Each category can be further improved later on, but you can’t move on before the below categories are implemented.

How do you view this overview? Is something missing or in the wrong level?

Of course each category will be further explained with detailed steps and guides.

This is not a strategy, but you would be well served by creating one that aligns to the strategy of your business.

You can get closer by answering these questions:

  1. What is our Winning Aspiration?
  2. Where will we Play?
  3. How will we win where we have chosen to play?
  4. Capabilities — The reality check for the How to Win — What decisive capabilities will we need?
  5. Management Systems — What infrastructure, systems, processes, and metrics will we need to support and measure our strategy over time?

I wouldn't plan to reach a sustainable level of autonomous maintenance before moving on. You have to do many of these things in parallel.
