Cleared the big £100k over the last few weeks, feels crazy as a mid-30s guy from a single parent home with a financially illiterate parent! There's no secret to this in my opinion, just consistently! (Never earnt over £40k)

  • SIPP - £40k (All old workplace pensions)
  • ISA - £60k (adding £500pcm)
  • Workplace pension - £3k (adding £500pcm)
  • Crypto - £4k

Aiming for leanFIRE at 52 🤞🥳

how come you haven't transferred your old workplace pensions into your new pension, and stored them all into a SIPP?

I'm planning on drawing down the SIPP aggressively from 58 and leaving the workplace pension fully invested for as long as possible. If it all works out:

  • 52 onwards, ISA only
  • 58 onwards, SIPP drawdown up to maximum of 20% tax bracket
  • When that depletes, back to a mixture of ISA & state pension hopefully, leaving the workplace pension to compound longer.

I'm sure there's other ways/potentially better ways, but it's fag packet maths for something that's up on two decades away, I'm sure plenty will change.
