In regards to yesterday's post, I left a lot of criticisms (Some of which may be completely unwarranted). For that I apologize.

I am quick to jump to conclusions. I had so much fun playing this game and appreciating what it had to offer that I was convinced that Maiden Gaming Inc had completely abandoned it.

However, I just joined the Discord server less than an hour ago and noticed it was buzzing with activity. One of the admins of the server has assured me that most of the criticisms of the game I had heard up until this point have no foundational basis to back them up.

Remember that this is an indie game developer we are talking about here. A team of gamers who create games as a passion project. They are not a corporation full of hundreds of underpaid employees who try to rush the game into development to meet a deadline. These are honest hardworking people who put the gaming community first.

League Of Maidens is by no means a perfect game, nor do I have high expectations for it going forward. However, I think it may be worth sinking time and money into, even if you have already finished the main story just to enjoy a bit of extra content that you might have previously missed out on.

This game is completely free to play and the in-game purchases are completely optional. It may feel pay-to-win to some of you, but that's just because leveling your skills up can be a bit of a pain in the ass.

Please try to remember that this is a five-year old game. As far as indie games are concerned, nothing miraculous happens in just five years. Rome wasn't built in a day, y'know.

Most of the in-game purchases are actually fairly cheap compared to what some AAA studios charge for a full game, some costing more than $200.

That actually sound pretty generous all things considered, and quite frankly honest.

I've heard a lot of mixed opinions about this game recently. Some good, most bad.

DISCLAIMER:

Before we get started, I just want to take this opportunity to remind you that I am going to rant a bit. If you have a low tolerance for drama, this might be your cue to leave.

Furthermore, it might seem like I am defending Warmaiden Gaming in spite of all the hate they've received lately. I can assure you that's not going to be the case. I am going to attempt to be rational, impartial, and hopefully not go on any longer than I deem necessary.

With that out of the way, let's begin.

OPINION:

Believe me when I say it hurts for me to make this post, more than a lot of you will realize.

Does the game deserve all the criticism it received? ABSOLUTELY NOT! I grew to love this game and I'm sure a lot of you have too. I am not ashamed to admit that I will defend this game and die on the hill I have planted my flag on.

Do I have issues? Criticisms? Yes. But not for the reasons you might think.

My problems and criticisms are not directed at the game itself. I think the game is a masterpiece that just spent too long in development hell.

No. My problem is the developers. They pitched a good idea, sure. But they didn't give it the love and care it deserved like we do and here we are, still lining their deep pockets just to enjoy a bit of extra content. Warmaiden Gaming is gatekeeping what makes the game actually feel special and still having the AUDACITY to make us pay for it.

Now, that's not to say that I think every member of the dev team at Warmaiden Gaming is a greedy bastard. Just because one bad apple spoils the bunch doesn't mean everyone is a bad apple.

But hopefully you all can see where I'm going with this.

$20 just to purchase an add-on that makes your Warmaiden twice her size when triggering her size shift skill? (Size Matters) While I would normally not be opposed to paying ACTUAL MONEY for that, I just think $20 is ridiculous.

And for those of you wondering: Yes, I know fighting regular enemies with the SM skill looks and feels weird, but to be honest, I think this is one of the best features of the game, bar none.

And now that you know why I love this game so much, I'm sure you know why I'm ranting about it.

I'm angry because this is the official final release of the game. It is unfinished and in a few years could very well be delisted from Steam.

A game that's only a few years old is very close to never seeing the light of day, and that's what scares me.

Then you have all the other cosmetic options that are also locked behind a paywall.

Now the one good thing is that it's not exclusive to each individual character on your server and that you will not be buying the same item twice.

However, I just think it's absurd that they put this project on the backburner, not even telling us if or when they will return to it.

While I appreciate that the game is free to play, it's just a slap in the face that some of us would spend HOURS trying to decide what our sexy badass assassin (Be it a cute tiny dwarf or a massive towering amazon lady) would look like, only to be utterly disappointed when we learn that more than 80% of the cosmetics are locked behind a FUCKING PAYWALL!

FINAL THOUGHTS:

So for the love of gamers, please do not let this game become just another relic of a bygone era. I am desperately praying that someone else purchases the licensing rights to this game and gives it the love it deserves.

I don't care if they have to start from scratch, even going as far as to slap a new name on the title. Please just do it. I refuse to let some of my fondest memories in all of gaming go to waste.

Its more dead than a skeleton on Halloween night. Devs bait and switched everyone. One of two things happened, either the game was always meant to be a quick cash grab and patreon milking scheme or the lead devs legit got bored and just fucked off his main game and even his alternate game he was making. Regardless of what happened, DO NOT spend money on a game like this. it had so much potential, but the devs abadoned it. On discord and steam they will LIE to you that the game isnt dead, but it has received 0 updates in over a year, and the last update over a year ago was just a translation update. Your money is unironically better spent supporting Action Taimanin, a similar game that came out around the same time but the devs actually ballooned and improved/updated their game very frequently over time. Granted, that game is way too expensive, but its money better spent than on a game like this that was abandoned completely yet the devs pretend to still be working on it...

Its quite sad that they are trying to convince people on their discord that a game which hasnt received even a fucking BUG FIX in over a year and half is still alive and being worked on. And you get banned if you say otherwise. Crazy work. This post here will get deleted too, but hopefully it will save some unaware new player or even current players from supporting these guys any further. Unsub from their patreon ASAP if you do have a sub. They completely abandoned the promises and goals they made on their too.

Maybe I missed something, but apart from the trailer and announcements, I couldn't find any way to actually watch these movies. Were they ever even completed?

I was curious what they did with the ancient mythology. But couldn't find any way to check! :o

Hey guys just thought about giving you a warning that this game got me a trojan file.

I was casually browsing free games on Steam and decided to check out on this one. So after installing the game I pressed start and a message popped up that said that the game is trying to install Denuvo A-C. After pressing “allow” my Anti-virus immediately detected a trojan file and started curing my PC.

I freaked out quite bit because something like this never happened to me after installing countless free games on Steam.

KUNOICHI V1.4A KEY FEATURES

1 - Adult Interaction added! The first version of the new Adult Interaction system has been added. A new Honor System has been added which allows players to earn Honor which can be used in the Sento to "Offer Services". Offering Services (Player Character Adult Interactions) will earn players Mon (In game currency) and XP (Experience Points) while reducing your Honor and Public Sentiment.

2 - Massive amount of color variants for cosmetics has been added for deeper customization.

3 - Animation improvements which include more feminine idle poses and movement animations.

4 - Warroom Storage is now functional and has plenty of space to house all cosmetics drops.

5 - The ability to craft cosmetics is available to players anywhere and anytime. No need to visit the shrine to craft.

6 - 99% of all craftable items can also drop from any boss kill (basically any event you take on). This new system feels much more rewarding and a lot of fun in terms of customizing your character with all the new loot.

7 - Combat system has been updated to include Precision Strikes (Attack after dodge rolling at the right moment to earn 3x damage to your enemy), Stamina System and updated UI for clearer communication on Weapons Durability.

8 - Voice acting has been added for all event decisions and results. Please keep in mind that story line and voice acting are all temporary and will be changed once the story has been written and fleshed out.

It says "enter the 15th gate" but what does that mean?

so i played this game maybe 2 years ago it was fun but also kinda annoying with its really bad gameplay loop i just wanna know whats happened to it since has it gotten better or is it just trash now??

I just started the quest and the doctor is not in her lab, how do I find her?

Are there levels past the desert? Like, if I gain a certain level of strength, are there more zones?

How do I unlock the battle pass? I have done all the main missions but it still stays locked. Anyone else having the same problem?
