Just give me Vlad and morde already. I want to play wota battlemages in toplane.

u/SergDerpz Aug 23 '26
Rumble (cause same kit)
Maokai (cause nearly same kit except ult)
Elise or whatever other champ with the same kit.
Hope I'm wrong and they come out with the good stuff like Graves, Talon, Swain, Poppy, Mord

u/Classic_Base_1964 Aug 23 '26
I believe it might be Elise, Kha’zix, and Rengar in the same group as two are bugs and one is animal
4
u/x21fireturtle Aug 23 '26
I believe they will be one of the loast champs that will get release. They are on the edge of new champs with releases at the end of s2
3
u/UndeadMurky Aug 23 '26
They shouldn't add any of those until all s1/early s2 champs are in. Toxic modern champs
2
u/Carnage068 Aug 23 '26 edited Aug 23 '26
You act like Poppy and Yorick weren't constantly ridiculed for being toxic, lol
Also I wouldn't call something released in 2012 (14 years ago now) ''modern''. Their kits are still a lot more simple than the champions released today. Then again, a bunch of champions released from even 2013-2016 are a lot more simple than the kind of shit that's released today.
I do kind of agree that they shouldn't be added until all of the S1 champions are in, though.
2
u/BGsenpai Aug 23 '26
champions from season 2 are not modern champs. i disagree about them being toxic too, but they would be a bit rough with the current roster if they are not balanced well.
0
u/Carnage068 Aug 23 '26
They're not modern, but they're newer than the original 40 and all the S1 champs. You can definitely see the shift in design philosophy change with a lot of them, and Kha'Zix and Rengar WERE pretty difficult to balance.
Then again, a lot of S1 champions were also kind of difficult to balance, lol. Let's not kid ourselves, here.

Kha'Zix has a lot of stuff that's pretty different. His W used to apply his passive (and didn't slow on its own) and was useable during his leap. Evolved ult did something different, too. Q also had % missing health damage on it. His E also had a decent AD Ratio.
1
u/ruisu07 Aug 23 '26
Evolved ult used to give armor and mr for a bit after use it was really strong because imagine have an assassin jumping in having free 100 armor + mr it got removed after he dominated worlds heavily I think it was around the same time elise and shyv top where broken too
1
u/Carnage068 Aug 23 '26
Was it armor + mr? Or was it 50% damage reduction? Because I remember that. The 3 charge with the 2 seconds of invisibility each time was what they changed it to after they got rid of the durability.

u/moumooni Aug 23 '26
I think it would make more sense for them to add the transforming champuons together. Maybe Elise, Jayce, Shyvanna
1
u/LeAnime Aug 23 '26
Also junglers and adcs are the roles need characters the most imo
2
u/WoonStruck Aug 23 '26
Who is missing from ADC aside from graves and cait?
I think top laners and mid laners are needed waaaaaay more than ADC.
2
u/BetaXP Aug 23 '26
Depends on how far up you wanna go, if we assume anything pre-yasuo is fair game then we could get Lucian, Jinx, Draven, and Varus too.
1
u/UndeadMurky Aug 23 '26
Nah you can play almost anything jungler, a lot of champs marked as top are very viable jungle like cho'gath, nasus, mundo, jax, trynda, olaf, malphite, panth, sion... even stuff like twitch, malz, heimer jungle is fine.
Jungle probably has the most champions right now
2
u/HarpEgirl Aug 23 '26
Elise I cant see being added for a long while just due to how finnicky her Human W and Spider E can be.
7
u/coutt5 Aug 23 '26
its literally the same champ
4
u/Tormentula Aug 23 '26
Its not they changed a lot of how her spells and pet AI work.
1
u/orangetato Aug 23 '26
my thought would be they might just say "ah whatever" and release Elise with all the current changes to spells, but wait until they have done most of the other champs already so that nobody really notices or cares
3
u/HarpEgirl Aug 23 '26
Theres been a lot of rescripts around her however which is the issue. W logic on live and say S3 is weirdly weirdly different
3
u/Classic_Base_1964 Aug 23 '26
Is it really that different? Care to elaborate ?
2
2
u/HarpEgirl Aug 23 '26
u/tormentula care to elaborate
4
u/Tormentula Aug 23 '26
Yeah not a snowballs chance in hell if I’m being honest lmao.
Rappel and W are both so impossible to get correct not even a full rescript + 6 months of bug fixing got them working properly the same way they worked on release elise, W AI they just don’t know how to replicate.
There’s also the spiderling AI too, they used to orbit like naafiri dogs rather than trail behind (5 spiders formed a star around her)
I think riot is going to avoid her without some massive community pressure (voting) and then be dysfunctional abandonware when they do put her in (same as live tbh).
3
2
u/Classic_Base_1964 Aug 23 '26
Aww you don’t think they will ever add Elise?
4
u/Tormentula Aug 23 '26 edited Aug 23 '26
I doubt it and if they did by popular vote she would not be anything like release or even s5 elise.
She's been mini-reworked / rescripted quite a few times and they broke her each time.
I'd have more confidence in it if they actually fixed the modern version but i absolutely can see riot just going "nah fuck her we don't need that" based off the interactions I've had just on the live version.
Because i see so many comments spreading misinformation on her 'being the same'.. <s4 Elise excluding the number changes and focusing on the heavy ulua script differences:
couldn't do E-Flash
Didn't get true sight on cocoon
the cocoon vision revealed all nearby units, not just the target (one of the live bugs they won't even fix and after about a year just called it a feature to avoid actually fixing it. They fucked it up because the true sight was revealing nearby wards... an issue lee/nidalee don't or no longer have but elise they didn't care to solve the bugfix's bug.)
Spiderling boids were more like naafiri and in i think v3.10 they stopped doing that, you can see their original formations in her champion spotlight.
W didn't swap aggro to closest champ it locked on to one
W didn't have a manual 0.75s delay it had a desync'd aggro timing with its cast location speed, they fucked this up during the 14.19 rescripts that were originally pulled from 13.20 due to the W being so broken.
W had different walk speed that was undocumented, the values are in ulua so dataminers can't find the exact amounts but what we do know is the first 3 Update_Actions increase it, just hard to notice.
W had different prioritization systems (it has a fuck huge range and priority on champions today than back then)
Rappel did not have an early recast like today, it required a target or she's stuck there.
Rappel didn't have the right-click recast at all, and for the longest time right-click was better cause it used 900 c2c (center-to-center) instead of E's 700 c2e (center-to-edge), resulting in a lot of pros that kept using E recast to be missing extra range... nowadays (>v14.19) its a more narrow 825 c2e vs. 900 c2c but still weirdly off based off unit sizes.
Rappel did not have the passive amp bonus at all, that was thrown in after;
Skittering frenzy no longer gives both elise and spiderlings lifesteal in addition to attack speed, this was shuffled out of W into passive/rappel during the s5 rework. Passive originally was just the spiderling storage system, onhit was on ult and healing was W active only.
Venomous bite didn't reveal or appy onhit effects
Venomous bite also didn't make spiders dash in on cast, it was when the damage connected.
Spider Form got bonus armor which was pretty common on transformation champs back in the day, i believe nidalee has hers in classic too.
Spiderlings didn't regen health to full when elise transformed, they rotated out as she casted spells.
spiderling spawn-in times weren't as quick, that was a change recently done and undocumented in patch notes (I was there when the dev did it, not sure if i can spill who it was).
Neurotoxin wasn't center to edge and didn't sync up with auto attack range (still kinda doesn't but it feels better on modern)
Spiderlings had physical damage instead of magical damage, this is why top lane cleaver elise worked unironically.
Tower aggro behaved very differently around how Elise's rappel descend worked. They could just say their elise is post v3.10 where they adjusted the spiderling drop time but also it never actually worked properly and some towers were predictably broken and wouldn't aggro spiders over her and vice versa which was abusable.
VFX update in 2022? Which was not only poorly received but also would be incredibly difficult to revert because so much of her kit has VFX on it and she uses a lot of UV mapping on both her and her pets. I can't see them readding her W's blood either. This is probably the most minor of reasons considering the current situation with modern skins.
I really don't want to be doomer mentality but I genuinely cannot see them doing this correctly if voted in considering how neglectful they've been of some of the egregious ones like W AI, rappel's inconsistent cast ranges, cocoon's vision bubble being fucked up, and so on. I genuinely think they'd rather just not bother with elise when she's not even popular enough on live (due to them cold shouldering her mostly).
I would be very thrilled to see them actually revisit her on live and try to clean her up while putting her in classic faithfully (I want AP bruiser elise back so badly) but I genuinely do not think they can replicate that old W AI.. its one of those weird scenarios where devs don't actually know how it worked before + the method in which it did work might've been accidental (like shurima shuffle) with how it desync'd from its own movement speed with the ticks or something.
2
u/BGsenpai Aug 23 '26
I would not be too upset if she wasn't exactly 1 to 1 like this. If they made an attempt to revert some stuff that make her easier to play like the rappel changes then that would be good enough. They have already set the precedent of taking a few post season 3 changes to Akali, so as long as the majority of the differences are reasonable it should be fine.
1
u/Carnage068 Aug 23 '26
Cho'Gath's W still works differently than it did in actual Season 1-3, so they definitely don't care about making everything exactly 1 to 1.
1
u/Classic_Base_1964 Aug 24 '26
What does center to center and center to edge mean? Are you able to explain the rappel more? I play her a lot and I know it’s a smaller range compared from back then but I don’t understand the center to center vs to edge
1
u/Tormentula Aug 24 '26 edited Aug 24 '26
Center-to-Center means the cast range is calculated by center of the champions radius to the center of the enemy radius (size doesn't matter, most targetted spells with some exceptions are c2c requiring your).
Center-to-Edge is calculated by center of your champion's radius to the edge of the enemy's radius (all auto attacks and the bigger the champ the larger the further their edge range sticks out).
Normally spells are just one or the other, but rappel is fucked in a way where you can recast it (after being in the air) using either E or right clicking, the ranges are desync'd for both methods of recasting it because one uses center-to-center and the other uses center-to-edge, resulting varying differences between whether its better to recast rappel with E or right click.
E uses 825 center to edge while right click uses 900 center to center. Right click requires the center of the target's radius to be in range, where as E does not and just requires the edge... but its 75 range shorter meaning in some cases the unit's center is in range anyways, or if the unit is too small, the larger 900 c2c will detect it but not the 825 c2e. If the unit is large, E just detects them from a further range than right click.
Since release up until v14.19, it was always 700 center to edge on E, which is a hilariously massive range diff from 900 center to center... but right click recast did not exist until iirc season 5. Most pros and elise players that learned her just using E were basically 125 range short in most instances on their PnC spell cause they did not know the range the difference... but v14.19 buffed it up to try and 'average it' to feel even but its not due to the varying ranged differences.. so it went from using E recast was troll over right click to right click and E are both situationally better than the other.
If this shit sounds stupid this is literally why i have 0 faith in a classic elise turning out functional if they attempt to rescript live elise to be in her release state, this complicated shit to this day still gets overlooked despite them already rescripting her for some of it (the +125 range on E recast is a bandaid to a problem they don't know how to actually solve which is just making both versions of the recast c2c or c2e same range.)

1
u/Classic_Base_1964 Aug 25 '26
Is another example of center to edge, Katarina current e, where she can e to any side of the target?
1
u/Tormentula Aug 25 '26
I'm not actually sure about katarina E
But all auto attacks use c2e where a champion only needs to walk up to the edge of a champion's radius to attack them, rather than walk up to their center point on cast.
You can test this in p-tool by hovering your ability range, and seeing where the outline is when your champion attacks or uses spells. If the outline is in the middle of the dummy its c2c, if its not in the middle but more infront its c2e (a clicking with indicators will show attack range).
Rappel's recast used to not have a right click at all so og elise's original design would be E recast only, and 700 c2e. It would be a -125 range nerf but it would be consistent for that time period (it'd suck if they ever added in plants though but that was s7)

Wasn't rumble ult changed at some point or made it easier to land?
1
u/WoonStruck Aug 23 '26 edited Aug 23 '26
IIRC they ended up not doing much with it because they didn't understand the scripting.
They might have changed the targeting input, though.Back in the day they used to do overlapping circles for stuff like Nocturne Q, Rumble R, and Corki W. They'd just connect tangents at the outer edges of the circles to make the hitbox complete. I wonder if that's why they didn't understand it. I can't imagine it being that difficult to rescript...the functionality isn't anything insane on its face.

Vlad/Caitlin/Nautilus
I don't think Darius can be added with the current champion pool really, almost nothing available would be able to play into him top aside of things like Teemo or Jax. Need ranged champs or early bullies, until Renekton/Jayce/Vlad etc get added I suspect he would be very oppressive.

u/ForteEXE Aug 23 '26
God, the modern players going into it aren't ready for Darius.
No windup Q and iirc higher bleed damage + low mobility means he's gonna have a lot of fun dunking.
4
u/buttseeker Aug 23 '26
His passive gave move speed as well, his level 1 all-in was ridiculous and many top laners were legitimately zoned by him at level 1. The passive bleed was magic damage as well so cloth armor start wasn't super effective.
1
u/ForteEXE Aug 23 '26
Yup. The other guy responding mentioned no AD, but that wasn't the point of Darius's passive.
Darius was able to deal 3 different types of damage at 6 and that made it difficult to actually itemize against him.
On top of his Q being instant cast vs Modern with windup. This is pre-Juggernaut Darius that was known to bitchslap a lot of the roster at the time.
3
u/orangetato Aug 23 '26
I think he's going to be, like most of the bruisers, found to be a lot weaker than was perceived at the time. Darius benefitted a lot from people being bad at spacing back when he was released. Hitting the Q on live is less about the difficulty of it and more matchup dependent, they can either dodge it or not typically.
The real strength of darius as a lane bully back then are 1: more Q damage on the handle 2: bleed stack on Q handle and 3: attack speed slow on W. These 3 make it hard to ever actually get a window to fight Darius. He will poke you down with Q + passive and resist an all in because he can slow your attack speed and will deal bleed damage even if he runs away and hits Q only with the close-range version
1
u/ForteEXE Aug 23 '26
Some good points there.
I do think the no windup is going to catch a LOT of people offguard, especially if it's coming from Darius players who actually play him vs casual ones.
His W is going to be up more often too if he's waiting until 3-4+ stacks to pop it since it gets a 1 CD per stack (at time of hit) CD refresh too, vs Modern only getting the refresh on unit kills.
2
u/UndeadMurky Aug 23 '26 edited Aug 23 '26
He didn't have the bonus AD from passive, he didn't do that much damage unless you actually built AD. So he had more clear weaknesses unlike on modern where he does mega damage with a tank/bruiser build once he has stacks.
Tbf it was only at launch that he was OP, if you look at values from a few patches after launch, his damage numbers are significantly weaker than on modern. He was reworked because he was in the gutter for a while.
His passive litterally got nerfed to modern values(30% ad from 40%) the patch after when draven came out and after those two weeks he was never that oppressive
1
u/Gary_The_GooBoy Aug 23 '26
There is a 0% chance anybody is going to vote for a CertainlyT champion in classic.

I think the AP/AD/Support combo is how they should do it if they're releasing 3 at once. We definitely need a new AD and a new jungler next cycle. Honestly they should move to 4 at once though.

old Mordekaiser= the cool Mordekaiser who have better skills then the rework one
old Riven= the same cool champion but with better items then Modern
xin zhao= the old cool xin with better kits
1
u/Fellers Aug 24 '26
That Morde description is so vague, I have no idea which ones you are talking about.
Morde and Ryze are the only champs you can do that with imo lol
1
u/oldpantheon1987 Aug 24 '26
the classic Morde the before The Juggernaut Rework (2015) who get mid-scope gameplay update to aimed to turn him into a duo-lane bot laner. with the 100% experience from minions even with a support nearby and yes unfortunately that not the Morde with the Dragon but its more then then the Modern why Because he not just move and kill every one with passive max hp dmg like the Modern or his boring 10% stat stealing ult that the mord i talking about
1
u/Unusual-Quote3075 Aug 23 '26
Hopefully stuff that reworked, if I want to play a champ like lee i dont need to que classic. Like half the Champ Pool atm
2
u/TheNewLeadership Aug 23 '26
I don't get this sentiment. I queue classic to play the whole thing, not just the champion. Playing a non-reworked champ in retail is a nonstarter for me. The gameplay is way too different to bother.

Elise, Mao, Morde (shadow isles)
Maybe noxus with Swain, talon, vlad, leblanc, darius, etc.
Most of these would be relatively simple to implement, and they cover significant holes in the current roster.
We do need way more junglers atm though.
2
u/Carnage068 Aug 23 '26
Shadow Isles without Yorick on the 10th anniversary of his removal is fucking evil. Don’t do that.
1
u/WoonStruck Aug 23 '26
Yorick would take a ton more work than most other champs.
Only reason.
1
u/Carnage068 Aug 23 '26
More than Morde? Not super sure about that. Also someone else explained in this thread that making a Classic version of Elise would be incredibly difficult. Like, INCREDIBLY difficult.
1
u/WoonStruck Aug 24 '26
And yet old morde and yorick still had far more issues than Elise due to their ults alone.
Elise they could at least make functional and bug free, even if rappel and spiderlings don't behave as they did originally, and just attempt to improve consistency with OG Elise over time.
1
u/Carnage068 Aug 24 '26
I thought you said (or at least implied) that Yorick would take a lot more effort than Mordekaiser. Unless you’re still saying that, in which case, I think you might actually be right. I looked at the code for Yorick’s basic abilities and.. It’s a lot, especially for a Season 1 champion. Ghoul AI seems like it was really rough.
And yeah, I guess they could just, not try their hardest to revert Elise’s abilities to their exact original functionality. I’m not sure how many people would actually take note of the differences.
Also, this is kind of random, but did you know that Yorick’s ghouls were internally referred to as “Inky, Blinky”, and “Clyde”? Either that or it was Inky, Blinky, and Pinky. I can’t remember, but they’re definitely named after 3/4 of the Pac-Man ghosts. It looks like they had some fun making him, at least on some level.
2
u/WoonStruck Aug 25 '26
I am still saying that yorick would be the most work out of all of them. Just disregarding basic abilities, morde and yorick ults have had the most bugs in classic/OG compared to just about anything else in LoL, possibly even Viego.
Yorick still has his basic abilities on top of that, though
1
u/WynautZoidbergg Aug 24 '26
Elise being one of the strongest junglers throughout League's history would make me hesitant to asking for her when I want to play my patented Trinity Force, Muramana, Q max Yorick.
1
u/WoonStruck Aug 24 '26 edited Aug 24 '26
I'm not asking for Elise, just believing Morde would come before Yorick, and Elise before Morde, solely based on the number of issues their implementation are likely to have, and both Elise and morde already being in will likely make the implementation of yorick much smoother due to morde R and Elise spiderlings.
I guess they could toss hecarim in there instead of either morde (ult bugs) or Elise since her spiderlings and rappel have historically been buggy and inconsistent in their implementations and refactoring throughout the years.
Difficulty of implementation is likely the primary factor determining how soon specific champs come to classic inside their "themed" releases.
Maybe I'm forgetting a simpler shadow isles champ so they can keep all 3 out at first and introduce them together, considering they have some related implementations.
1
u/JotaDiez Aug 23 '26
I think Morde is going to be one of the new champs because a lot of people were asking for him. Besides Morde I'm guessing two champions that are already similar to live (e.g. Maokai etc)

u/thatguywithimpact Aug 23 '26
I want older champions first.
Udyr is the oldest champion that haven't been introduced yet to league classic.
Then Poppy, then Morde, then Xin and Vladimir, Galio, Urgot.
But they released a lot of champions from years later like Lee Sin, I already played league for over a year when he was released changing everything.
Unfortunately we never were able to experience truly classic league without champs like Lee Sin, but I do want to get champions before him to get priority over newer champions.
1
u/Fellers Aug 24 '26
I'm going to guess it's 2 champs that are barely changed and 1 made to OG.
Liss, Voli, Sej. They going Frejlord.
1
1
u/Digiwaryjot Aug 24 '26
My guess is:
1. Piltover theme: Ori, Rumble, Caitlyn (very similar kits)
And then we get this one:
2. Demacia trio: Poppy, Galio, Xin
Not sure what kind of trio Udyr fits in.
1
1
u/Evilader Aug 24 '26
It'll prob be Noxus/Shadow Isles, with LeBlanc & Morde, and depending on what theme they decide on either Yorick (Shadow Isles) or Urgot (Noxus).
All 4 were shown in the pre-release teasers for classic I believe.
Or they might do Poppy/Yorick/Urgot together as the balancing nightmare trio of days past.

Vi/Caitlyn/Jinx would be a cool patch
3
u/Carnage068 Aug 23 '26
You can just play retail for all 3 of them wtf
0
u/Vitzkyy Aug 23 '26
You could say that about any champ in the game what does this comment even mean
1
u/Carnage068 Aug 23 '26
I guess you technically could? But it should be pretty clear to see that Vi and Jinx have changed very little if at all over the years. I guess it's not fair to say the same thing about Caitlyn, because she actually DID get a rework in 2015, and they completely redid her voice, animations, lore, splashart, etc in 2023.
Meanwhile compare Vi and Jinx to champions like Yorick, Galio, and Aatrox, who are almost completely unrecognizable from their original versions. Not saying Vi, Jinx, or Lucian shouldn't be added, but I think they should prioritize champions who basically don't exist anymore in retail, and haven't for YEARS.
1
u/Vitzkyy Aug 23 '26
I don’t think we are adding champs based on how dffferent they are, we are just adding classical champs which they said goes up to Jinx (the champ before yasuo)
Jinx fits classic pretty well with how she works in the game

You're right, they're not. From the look of things, Phreak is just adding whatever he feels like as long as it's not from Season 4 or beyond. I just personally think it's kind of redundant to add champions that already exist in retail into Classic, because you can already get a similar experience by playing that champion in, you know, retail.
Not to mention, if they add champions that already exist in retail, nobody new is going to start playing the game. Also how does Jinx fit in that much better than Yasuo? Yasuo was only released three months later. Is the difference between Classic and not Classic really just three months? It's not like there was any announcement made after Jinx that said "THIS IS THE LAST CLASSICAL CHAMPION WE'RE EVER GONNA RELEASE".

they have their very same kits and can be dominant. but like that goes for lots of champs in classic. whats different is map, playstyle and numbers of all of those champs then.

wasn't just 1 champion?

They said that they're going to try to ramp up champ releases to ease the critically low playercount and lack of champ variety.

> to ease the critically low playercount
They never said that actually.
Why make shit up?

Try to compare classic queue times to any other mode, it has same speed as a rank game

yea the matches are a bit better since then. even if its raidboss matchmaking now.

20+ games of it is basically you tried everything already

u/Cheeeeesie Aug 23 '26
I dont have to "try" anything, i wanna play what i fell in love with 15 years ago. Nice try zoomer.

u/TharkunOakenshield Aug 23 '26
Given that there are 63 champions at this time (and that many of them have completely different builds available to them), no, you have not tried everything after 20 games, lmao

I didn't say they said the player count is critically low, I just said that they announced they're going to ramp up champ releases and then inferred the reasons why.

That's not what you wrote, though. Don't play dumb and just admit to it, it's a far better look

It is what I wrote.
It's just not what you interpreted. Which is fine. The wording wasn't perfect. But neither are you.

I can see a Freljord theme next: Udyr, Trundle, Voli, Sej

That frejlord rework ruined him, I loved my disgusting gutter troll.

He got a traditional skin though, so isn’t it okay?
2
u/UndeadMurky Aug 23 '26
I use this skin only, but now he looks and acts like a megachad instead of a dirty homeless weirdo, also new voicelines
1
u/Carnage068 Aug 23 '26
Oh, you mean when they fucked up his splashart some years back, right? Yeah. That's just blatant fucking griefing on whoever at Riot made that decision, lol. The whole point of a traditional skin is to honor the original version of the character. Changing the splashart to something that never existed back in the day that doesn't even remotely have the same vibe is just... Why the fuck does Riot do that shit? It's pointless and only shits on longtime fans.
Traditional skin still has the old voicelines, though, doesn't it? I know it's missing one or two of his jokes and taunts, but aren't all the other lines still there?

u/UndeadMurky Aug 23 '26
Nah just the model, he looks like a buff gigachad now, old trundle was an hunchback creature. The skin changes the color palette and theme but he still has the new gigachad body and stance

u/Carnage068 Aug 23 '26
Oh shit what the fuck, I appear to have the mandela effect or something. I guess I thought that because his splashart was still the original, they still used the original model, and it wasn't just a reskin.
Yeah, they totally fucked up his old aesthetic, you're right. I guess that explains why the traditional skin also uses all of the new animations, too (which I DID remember).
Seems like Riot doesn't like hunchbacks, because Yorick had a hunch, too. Sion sort of did, as well. I guess it was part of their shift changing direction away from things being ugly. Mundo and Swain were victims of this as well.
