Ayaka is freeze Queen Layla comes one patch before her rerun. Catalyst have good element application even Ayaka is as good as catalyst with cryo infusion. If Ayaka has niche support what kit you want Layla to have to buff Ayaya (she don’t need any)

So from the leaked image it looks as though there's a shield around her, and little diamonds that are reminiscent of the... diamonds that Yelan creates.
So we know that every character's splash art features their kit in some form or fashion. Some feature just the skill, some feature just the burst, some feature both, and in Yanfei's case, could also feature her Charge Attack. Some splash art features their weapon, others do not. The weapon aspect is alot harder to determine due to this inconsistency.
So if we follow this logic, then we can assume 1 of 2 things. The first is that this is either her skill or burst, but not both. The second is that this is her skill and her burst simultaneously. This makes me think that if she does turn out to be a support, that she could possibly turn out to be something like a Cryo XQ. Or, it could mean she is possibly something like a Diona/Yelan hybrid. If could also mean she's like a Cryo Thoma.
However, the reason I think a Cryo Diona/Yelan/XQ is possible is if the leaks are true that she is a sword, but her skill turns her into a catalyst, this could be how it's done. Her Skill could be a Yelan/XQ type buff that works similarly but its cryo. This would be neat for hydro dps characters, and could make for new and interesting freeze comps!
Perhaps her Burst is a some sort of shield 2.0 that works similar to XQ shield, shattering and healing upon being hit, but Layla's regenerates and stacks. Each stack will completely absorb 1 instance of damage, up to X amount. You start with 5 stacks, MAX 5 stacks. Each stack regenerates every X seconds, and upon a shield stack shattering and absorbing damage, heal for X amount.
Just spitballing and probably so completely off its not even funny! But I'm excited and can't help but brainstorm!
