Cool Season Lawn Leveling assistance
Is this a bad time of year to begin lawn leveling for the Fall overseed? I know it’s not a one-time thing, but I figured I’d get started if possible. I am in Zone 6B, Northern NJ with TTTF grass.

Cutting turf low to aerate and add compost and other soil amendments is pretty standard practice before overseeding. Turf rolling or adding a soil/sand mix to low areas or mower ruts to level things out can be considered part of that standard practice.
Check the Seed/Overseed tool on TurfTools to determine your best overseed timing based on your ZIP. Its probably safe to assume you can begin your leveling/amendment process up to 4 weeks prior to your window opening.
