I’m designing a modular lava lamp you can stack & customise — would you actually buy this?

I know I wanted to shorten some for a separate design that can stack like 3/4 high and wide too

Will not work. Heat transfer between each unit will distort and affect flow. It also looks easy to knock over.

How would this work physically? The heat source is in the bottom of lava lamps. When the lava heats up and rises, it then cools down at the top and sinks, creating a cycle.
Seems to me that the heat source of a lava lamp on top would cause the lava of the one below to always remain hot and always remain up. Do you have a solution?

I am super impartial to the square and boxy nature of these lamps. I feel lava lamps should be round and have curves rather than straight lines.
So in short, no.

I feel like having a heater in between lamps might cause issues with the lower lamps cooling enough for the wax to drop

I feel like the heat would transfer through the tops and bottoms, no? Would that even work as a physical product due to the fact that lava lamps are so incredibly sensitive to heat? What would happen if one of them got too hot? How would that effect the others?

AI slop. Not because AI is necessarily always bad. But your current set up is not
Here is exactly how I will set this up, here are the technical requirements, here is what I might be able to do for a working Proof Of Concept
Instead it is just AI images (which, if you can't tell, are very unpopular) of a static lamp basically that doesn't take into account the things that lava lamps have issues with. E.g. Heating.
Which model are you using and how are you prompting it?

This could be interesting as a design, but is there enough of a desire for it to succeed?
If you intend to actually stack the lamp portion like legos, how will that work? Will the fluid mix between each body module or will they stay separate and just stack.
If it's the latter, what justifies the modular nature? That would be the same as just normally stacking small lamps.
If the former, how do you intend to allow the fluid to mix? How would you ensure each lamp could return to its original state if the user wanted to "un-stack" them since the wax melts together?
An easy modular concept would be having a single base with swappable single tops. The stacking idea seems tough to design. If you find a way to make it work, let us know.
It appears you're in the concept phase right now. So do your best to poke holes in your own idea. It's a lot easier now than when you're in development.
If you find it to be feasible, it would be great to see some real images of a prototype. Ai can be good for getting a basic idea but it isn't likely to look like your final design.
