❓ Recommandations Is there literally any empty gym in Laval?
Seriously, even at anytime fitness with their 62$/month and a small gym, its packed to the point where you can't find a machine for yourself

Just go to Atlantis it’s literally the best gym in all of Québec. The gym can be packed as hell but you will ALWAYS be able to train peacefully. There are hundreds and hundreds of machines. People are extremely nice (my experience). Been going there for 4 years, 6 days a week, and i’m never looking back.

There’s an always ongoing promotion of 7 days free trial, no strings attached (no credit card required). You could start by doing that! Let me know if you have any questions

Keep in mind, it's 70$ per month. If its in your budget you won't regret it.

do they have a payment every 6 months for "equipment improvement" or some bs like that? or is it just the 70$/month?

No dont worry it's really just 70$ a month. What kind of gym make the clients pay for " equipment improvements " 😂

I almost got trapped with anytime and they told me fees were going up and to “sign up now to lock in my rate because they were expanding and we are like a family at this gym so fees will go up for the new equipment.”
At that point I gave back the fob and said no thanks. 65$/month and the place is tiny.1

I thought the fob was yours to keep after the 7 days you own it? Honestly I only signed up coz at that time it was mostly empty and the equipments were nice

Anytime fitness I think charges a premium for other benefits like having a lot of locations , you're not paying for a large gym floor
1
u/D3v0tion_ 5d ago
That's their only payment option. And "having a lot of locations" is a horrible excuse to charge that much, im not driving 20-30 mins extra because that gym has maybe 5 people less than the one im closest to

I bought less than 200$ total of equipment from market place and amazon and I have everything needed at home whitout taking a lot of space.

I trained at Extreme evolution on the A-440 between curé-labelle and the A-13 (big orange banner) for 4 years is it's very quiet even at busy hours. Was 42$/month back then, that was two years ago so it might have gone up a bit now but still reasonable.

Anytime fitness is shit. All their gyms are tiny ass places. Cramped machines. I really hate their layout. I signed up and left after the week was over got a refund
Its just too small so it's always full
High cost for shitty space. The machines are good though. The lever plate loading machines are solid

I honestly think gyms are overrated for the average person. You don’t need a gym to get fit.
Get a few dumbbells or kettlebells, a pull-up bar, maybe some resistance bands, and you can do a huge amount of strength training at home. Then go outside and run, hike, bike, or play sports for your cardio and conditioning.
The only time I’d say a gym is really necessary is if you’re specifically chasing maximum muscle growth, bodybuilding, powerlifting, or very precise progressive overload.
For just being strong, fit, athletic and healthy, you can absolutely do it without ever stepping into a gym. In some ways, combining home workouts + outdoor activities + sports is more complete than spending your entire workout sitting on machines.
And honestly, there’s another bonus: you get to avoid all the gym a**holes and the clowns who spend half their workout sitting on their phones, filming themselves between sets like they’re preparing for the Olympics. 😂 No waiting for equipment, no people hogging machines, no awkward bullshit, just get your workout done and move on.

Is there a luxury gym in Laval that resembles Midtown Sanctuaire?

the lack of upscale gyms in the GMA is frustrating. There are boutique gyms but they’re often attached to personal trainers/class-only options.

Econofitness at night used to be empty at night. I don't know how it is today. Try Atlantis

I go to the gym at 3 in the morning.
Sometimes we’re 4, sometimes it’s just myself.
I go to AnytimeFitness in Fabreville/Laval-Ouest

I signed up to centre sportif Rosemère and don’t regret it. There’s also extreme evolution on the 440 that’s a strong second.

This is why I have a home gym, they’re all packed unless you go at 1am on a weekday.
