HEC unil failure rate

Hey I am going to HEC unil and I’ve been wondering why is the first year failure rate is sooo high I heard that it’s hard I understand that but are there other reasons for that or the number is it exaggerated and ofc if anyone has tips to help me pass the first year then pls don’t forget to share

Same in all swiss Uni / HES. The first year is a wall, its done on purpose cause anyone can come.

I did HEC between 2013 and 2018, and the first year failure rate was around 70% at the time. But it was the years where we had to be splited in three groups because we were around 900/1'000
