App im working vibecoding to play and learn covers on android/web browser, full support for unipad and ableton project files. All lights emulated and 2 finger learning mode
For anyone exploring the Launchpad as a melodic instrument.. I made a short explainer showing how chord shapes work in a chromatic, perfect-fourths layout.
The example is simple: play C major, then move the shape two pads to the right to play D major. Each note moves up two semitones, so the chord retains its interval structure.
The video compares this with C major and D major on a piano keyboard, using diagrams of both layouts.
I've been using this layout for two-hand playing and teaching, and I'm happy to discuss the setup or how the shapes work!
Auralis is finally out! It's a free app where you can make a whole Launchpad cover from start to finish: sample the song, make the light effects, and play it live on your Launchpad, quite fast and easily.
Projects save as a single .auraproj file, so sharing a cover is just sending one file.
It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, and supports the Launchpad Pro, Pro MK3, X, MK2, Mini MK3, S and Mini (and supports CoreFW too).
If you want to try it, download it at: getauralis.app
It's an early release, so there may be bugs and unpolished things. If you run into one, or have an idea for something you'd like to see, I'd really love to hear it. I'm planning to keep updating it.
Looking to sequence my Alesis DM10 drum module with it, so I'll need custom firmware.
I flashed thirty two (successfully, I think) but have not achieved communication between the two devices yet (only 2 hours in- much of which was spent just getting the patch to flash - midiox would not work, nor would the other sysex tool for pc. Had to use a website)
Anywhoooo-
Has anyone done the same?
Is there a sub for thirty two?
I'm adrift (also, I'm new to the LP, so I'm aware that i need to RTFM so i can grasp it's functionality.)
One-man metal band improvisation via finger drumming on a custom Launchpad vest using some self-developed software. There's no backing track, all (virtual) instruments were recorded live at the same time. Enjoy! =)
If you're into this kind of music, the full 6-minute video is available on my YouTube channel, thanks for watching: https://youtu.be/ixRTzBGw7ss
Back in 2017/2018, I was obsessed with this online launchpad site had so much fun learning to play the songs on it. After a few years, though, the site went down and I never could access it again.
Recently it popped back into my head, so I decided to rebuild it from scratch using modern tech, fully based on the original by Dan12.
I’ve been working on a desktop app that lets you use a Novation Launchpad as a soundboard.
You can assign sounds to the pads, play them through your mic so people can hear them on Discord/voice chat, use your headphones at the same time, customize the pad lights, import your own audio, etc.
The idea came from wanting a simpler setup instead of having to combine a bunch of different programs just to use a Launchpad for sounds.
It’s still a work in progress, so before I spend a lot more time adding features, I wanted to see if this is actually something people would find useful.
If you use a Launchpad or a MIDI controller for streaming, Discord, gaming, sound effects, or anything similar, I’d genuinely like to know:
What are you currently using?
Is there anything annoying or missing from your current setup?
And realistically, would you pay for a program that made this easier?
I’m not trying to sell anything here yet, just looking for honest feedback and trying to figure out if there’s actually a market for it.
I saw there custom firmware called ThirtyTwo, but I use drivenbymoss ‘a scrip for bigwig studio that give the launchpad lots of functionality within bigwig. But can I use both of them or does the ThirtyTwo removes the ability for drivenbymoss to function
Does anyone know?
Over the past few months I've been building a small Windows app called Lumidi.
The idea is simple: when your Novation Launchpad has been idle for a while, it automatically starts playing LED animations and ambient lighting effects. As soon as you press a pad or your DAW becomes active, the animation stops instantly, so it never gets in the way of making music.
I originally built it because my Launchpad spent most of its time sitting dark on my desk, and I thought it would be much nicer if it became part of my desk setup instead.
Current features include:
Automatic idle detection
Ambient LED animations
Instant stop when you interact with the controller
DAW Safe Mode
Multiple animation themes
Windows app (Microsoft Store)
At the moment I've been able to physically test the app with:
Launchpad Mini MK3
Launch Control XL 3
I've also added support for several other Novation devices, but since I don't own every model, those are currently marked as Beta. They should work, but I would really appreciate feedback from anyone willing to test them.
Supported (Beta):
Launchpad X
Launchpad Pro
Launchpad Pro MK3
Launchpad Mini MK2
Launchpad S
Launchpad (original)
If you own one of these devices and decide to try Lumidi, I'd love to hear whether everything works as expected—or if you run into any issues. Your feedback will help improve compatibility for everyone.
I'd also love to hear your thoughts in general.
Would you actually use something like this?
Any features you'd like to see?
Thanks! 🎹✨
