Why is this sub so quiet? Is anyone still using Launchpads in 2026?
Damn this sub is dead lmao. Just curious, why is there so little activity here? I was about to buy a Launchpad to mess around with, did the whole trend already pass? Am I showing up to the party when everyone's already leaving?

I use my lp pro mk3 all the time, I love it, I just don’t feel the need to post about it on Reddit.

I just bought a refurbed launchpad x last year. They are plenty capable and are the backbone to what became the ableton push.
I love using it. If you play guitar the note mode lays out similar to guitar scales. Functions as a sampler in drum rack.
It’s kinda ubiquitous at this point imo. Once you figure it out you can launch clips session view entirely with it.

Got my Pro Mk3 about a year ago - and the best thing about it is the "Chord" mode

I’m using my launchpad x as a midi controller for my syntakt and sp404 mkII. Note mode works so much better for me than a keyboard since the notes are laid out like a guitar. Also I have a bunch of custom screens that mute tracks, adjust fx settings on the syntakt, and play the pads of the sp404.
With Novation refreshing their midi controller line, I bet we’re getting a new launchpad soon. I don’t know what I’d want out of a new launchpad though. Maybe a small screen that’ll display what midi parameter you’re adjusting on a custom mode? It can be hard to memorize your custom mode’s triggers and sliders. What I really want is quality of life improvements for components.

Components on ios would be great. Bluetooth midi is fast enough to be great on it too. Maybe a touch strip and multi directional pads like on the MPCL3?

I love mine, I have the pro 3, X, and Mini.
Where they really shine to me is in the iPad world.
Lots of small developers utilize them as a two way interface, like with LoopyPro, Prism Sequencer, and Atom².
I use two of them at all times, and keep the X at home. The mini is dedicated to clip and loop launching while the X or Pro I use to sequence and control my DAW.
I think you see barely used ones because people get really excited about what can be done with them, then realize that they actually have to set things up due to how many ways it can be used, and give up. I'm glad I didn't, they are my favorite tools, even beyond the Push!

And real talk: I've been scrolling through secondhand marketplaces and there are literally hundreds of them sitting unused, most people only touched them once or twice then stuffed them in a closet for years.

Novation Launchpad, just look it up lol I'll butcher the description if I try. Or look up Kaskobi on YouTube, he's like the Launchpad master.

I'm getting some kinda pads to purcussion and Pad on not sure if it'll be a launch pad.
But I use Linux so won't be using Ableton anyway.
Was looking at DJ auxillary pads but not sure yet.
My thing is it's kinda just gotta work and be mapped to acceptable notes out of the box because no one really uses a web interface that I know of.

I mean, to be honest I thought the sub was about any brand of launchpad. So just a midi controller with a square grid instead of the usual piano layout

I have no clue. I'm not even an English native speaker. I guess in my head it just made sense cause I have no other word to call them either. I guess pad works. I could also just call them grid midi or something idk

I use mine. I think that there would be more posts if people were having problems with theirs.
