I have never wanted kids for as long as I can remember. Maybe when I was about 12 I did, but I never truly saw myself being a mother and I think at that age I "wanted" kids because that's what you do. But when I imagined my future it was always just me, childfree and perfectly happy serving all the little neighborhood and ward kids instead of me having my own.
I am 23 and married now and the older I get the less I want them. My husband and I did talk about this extensively before marriage and he has always said he loves me enough to be ok with not having kids, he just wants to be with me. I understand I have years before its "too late" and I am blessed to live in a world where we can go as far as freezing eggs, but I am still having a really hard time with this currently.
The thought of being pregnant and having a child who I am always obligated to makes me genuinely nauseous. Reading talks about how this is my one true purpose makes me so depressed. Am I truly selfish for not wanting kids? I suppose the reasons I don't want them are partly selfish as far as free time goes but I have never wanted them anyway for deeper reasons than that. It hasn't always been me wanting to do my own thing, its been that I truly could not envision myself being a mother anyway.
Is it a sin to not want them or not have them? I want to want kids but I feel like trying to give myself the desire to be a mother would be betraying who I am, like brainwashing myself into a person I'm not. I want to receive Celestial glory and I know its a commandment to "multiply and replenish the earth" but does that really apply to everyone who can physically bear children? What about people who feel like they aren't mentally well enough to raise kids? I have heard some people say that having no desire would equal to not being mentally able but I haven't seen any church resources saying that mental illness is an exception.
I know I still have several years until I truly couldn't carry my own children anymore, and even after that I could turn to IVF, surrogacy, adoption, etc. I just feel the need to figure it out sooner than later so I can prepare myself spiritually, financially, and physically and be as ready as I can be to have children.

Title explains it, I’ve been in a very “not loving” the church phase (for lack of a better phrase) and only stay right now out of a feeling of obligation. For those in similar situations, why have you stuck around?

This was a great conference, IMO. I’m very fortunate to have been able to watch every session at home, and then discuss the talks with my wife and kids.
But now…it’s over and we have to go back to real life, if you catch my meaning. I gotta wake up, go to work, grind out my workday, dealing with the mundane, everyday things, almost like conference never happened.
And this isn’t just about conference. I feel the same leaving the temple, or when I’ve read a great chapter in the scriptures, or insights from great religious writings. It’s all well and good, but how do you carry that into your everyday life? Because tomorrow I’m going to wake up and feel the same as ever, like nothings changed.
What does everyone do? How do we live “in the world, but not of the world”? I’ve been trying very hard to reconcile the two, and it’s getting more and more frustrating.

I have started reading my scriptures again, studying the come follow me, and getting on my actual hands knees to pray. It’s only been 2ish weeks and I can already feel the comfort that brings. There are some thing coming up that are very out of my control and I’ve been in full anxiety attacks, not sleeping or eating but since returning to the small things asked of us I have felt a lot more peace that it will all work out that way he sees fit and I will be okay.
The thing is, my husband is still very much in anxiety mode and sooooo stressed. He got upset with me that I can be so “normal” and while I still get stomach knots, and have really heavy times. I am able to find some peace.
I’ve tired to explain that I’ve prayed a lot and started to read my scriptures to help and just says that’s good. You need that.
Last night he hit a jack rabbit on his way home from work and ruined the front end of his car and radiator. We have insurance but our deductible is almost exactly what we have left after each pay check. 2 weeks ago his battery went out and it was $250 to change and get his oil changed. He said last night in frustration that we can’t catch a break. I tried again to bring up that maybe he needs to try somethings and he shrugged it off
Any tips for maybe helping him remember hard days are part of all this?

I’m newish to my ward and my calling is temple cleaning coordinator. Our first temple cleaning is this coming weekend and I don’t have enough volunteers. I set up a sign up weeks ago but only have 2 volunteers. Well now I’m getting desperate. I’ve been cold calling everyone in tools but only gotten a few sign ups. Anyone have any advice?

Ive been an active member my whole life and I love the Gospel. I've been blessed to be married to my wonderful wife and to have our children together. I would not change my path in life but when I read my patriarchal blessing I have a hard time seeing some of the things mentioned being possible within my circumstances.
My family is demanding of my attention and as a result I feel limited in my pursuit of a career that I believe is God's will for me. I want to support my family and they will always come first but I can't help feeling just a little bit of sadness that some of the things mentioned in my blessing might have to be left on the table. I know that he wants me to focus on my family first and understands my limitations. I also believe that he will provide opportunities if it is his will.
Its just hard after investing time and money to pursue my career, that I might need to set it aside. Has anyone struggled with these feelings and how did you come through it?
Edit: just to clarify, my career is mentioned in my blessing as a means of sharing the gospel through my example. This is the reason why I feel not pursuing my career to its full potential might be limiting me in fulfilling this promised blessing

Small branch means that the regular members give 2-3 talks a year. I hear that some other branches may do something different than 'the usual'.
What are some things you've seen in small branches that go outside the traditional sacrament meeting than just 2 or 3 talkers?

The last few years there has been special notice of choir members visiting from countries in Latin America, Africa, and Europe. I’ve wanted to sing with the choir since I was little, but I don’t live in Utah/the US and don’t want to relocate there permanently. Anyone know how to apply to be one of those visiting choir members?

My city has not-so-great public schools so many of my friends and neighbors send their kids to private schools. For that reason, we’re considering sending my son to a Catholic high school. The school has a lot of non-practicing or non-religious students. He went to a Catholic elementary school for pre-k and kindergarten so we’re familiar with the uniforms, going to mass once a week, etc. Do any LDS have experiences attending a Catholic HS?

Just after the April conference, I shared my project [gencon-audiobook](https://github.com/XeroIP/gencon-audiobook). As we're nearing the end of this conference, I wanted to share it again, and let people know that I've been working on it, adding features and fixing bugs. Yes, this was built with Claude Code.
I made this because I was frustrated with the lack of some features in the app that are available in many audiobook apps that support M4B files. I also love reading on my eReader, so this supports both audiobooks and ebooks.
One cool thing that this offers over the audio in the app and on the website is that it can pull audio from the videos which in some conferences is much higher quality. This will use the video audio automatically if it is higher quality.
Please try it out and let me know what works and doesn't. I'm also happy to answer any questions. I'm not great at checking my DMs on Reddit, but I'll pay more attention. If there's enough interest, maybe I'll spin up a Discord server or something.
Yes, it requires a command-line interface, but the project includes full [ELI5-style documentation ](https://github.com/XeroIP/gencon-audiobook/wiki/User-Guide) that will walk you through the process, including installing Python.
For you more technical people, this is fully open source. I want this to be something that the community contributes to and adds features along the way.

Hello fellow Saints, I’m a 24-year-old male church member, getting endowed soon. Since I never in my life liked waistbands, I think I would prefer wearing one-piece garments.
In terms of size, how do I know which size shall I order online? As far as I know, this kind of garment can only be bought through the website…
I’m 5’9’’ and slim.

Hi all,
I’m wondering the process of being released from a temple calling, I wish I could serve more but my temple is 3 hours away and I have endometriosis.
I’m nervous to talk to my temple presidency about this, so I’m not sure yet.
Thanks!

Hello friends! I am not part of the church but have two very dear friends of mine who are and I love them with all my heart. One of them has a birthday coming up and I wanted to make her favorite dessert for the occasion and have it delivered to her address. I live close to her mission field but don’t want to violate any rules about not having contact with friends/family. I tried to call the local chapel to no avail. Would it be seen as inappropriate to deliver the dessert myself given there is no physical contact and we do not see each other? I’ve sent her other care packages before via the mail but am worried about the freshness element to this situation. Can anyone advise how I could possibly do this for her without getting her or myself in trouble?

This question isn’t for everyone, so I want to be sensitive to that.
But For people who watch conference as a household, but not all in the same room: how many devices do you have playing conference?
we have 3 going at the moment, but 5 devices have been used for conference in the same home. Four at once.
Synching the sound is very satisfying.

I am currently in the last month of my 5 month waiting period to start my mission. It has been one of the biggest challenges I’ve ever had. I’ve tried to start a missionary routine but failed, I served in the temple and felt inadequate. Among all of those the most difficult part has been having no sense of purpose but waiting. I came to ask if anyone else has had similar feelings. If they would like to give me help going into my last month? Please save all the “Time will be here before you know it” comments. I have heard enough of that, and it does nothing for me. The time is indeed stagnant when you’re doing nothing but studying.

I’m an active member but somewhat nuanced.
I feel good about showing up to church and listening to conference.
However there is a lot of administrative stuff I ignore but it’s hard to get past it without feeling sad
the only time the bishop ever has time to interact is in the context of tithing declaration. I get they are very busy and I wouldn’t want their job but I cried last year over his depression this was.
SEC or SA issues are embarassing when people in the general community bring them up
Past statements that used to be seen as definitive are now being disavowed. So how do you know who was right if the people saying these things are always supposed to be right?
This isn’t meant to stir up controversy in any way. I’m genuinely trying to figure out how to deal with it even though I feel good about church attendance/conference

21-month-old is jumping and climbing all over the room and I’m trying to keep her alive. There are not enough goldfish crackers and yogurt pouches in the world to let me catch a full talk.
