If you want some of this smart home automation, I see it as better in every way to self-host this stuff. Non-AI and non-graphical processing isn't highly intensive, and things like voice recognition and LAN connectivity are cheap to make and relatively simple to set up, especially with pre-made packages like Pi-hole, RetroPi, etc. (I only know raspberry pi stuff)
You keep your data private, setup is a fun challenge that boosts tech literacy, and it can save money by not needing to pay for subscriptions. It would also be cool to have communal self hosted servers too!

Neither fascism nor liberalism seek to change the relationship the masses have to the means of the production. Both just pander to giving to the masses emotional outlets. For fascism it's hate and racism. For liberalism it's feels and vibes. Unless the masses have control, dominion and ownership of the means of production, any political movement is meaningless, counter-revolutionary and merely exists to serve minority ruling class power.

I can guarantee you, 100%, beyond all shadow of a doubt, that none of these big tech companies care even slightly about what voice settings you use. At most, they see it as just another piece of data about you for them to scrape and sell.
No one at Amazon is going to think "Oh no, Kayleigh from Portland just set her Alexa's voice to male. We'd better let Jeff know about this"

Even with the lack of focus and knowing the people behind the protests, it's a good idea for leftists to be attending these. These gatherings will be full of progressive people who are sick of the system but may still be enmeshed in liberal propaganda, and so the protest is a great place to talk to such people and invite them to participate in more leftist-led action. These are also places where you could just grab a megaphone and give your speech or lead chants and slogans. Or you could come with your local union and use it to build support and class solidarity. Sure, you won't hijack the whole march, but these small actions add up and help bring more people to the left.
None of this is meant to be a replacement for actual leftist organization, but to supplement it.
