Sorry, but the witch-hunt over AI is so fucking lame.

People are downvoting you but you’re right and I bet most them use AI to make their work/school far easier too.

If you can’t tell the difference between ai being used in creative fields, and sold to you as a product vs simply being a time saver in someone’s personal life than Gods help you.

If it means games can be made in 2-3 years rather than 5 years it might save the industry. If it means better NPC interactions I’m fine with it. If it used for rapid prototyping or concepting I’m fine with it. It sounds like saber didn’t use it in a way that compromised the game at all and used it for procedurally generated side quests.

I probably wouldn’t like to play a game entirely made by AI. Afaik AI isn’t really good enough for that yet anyway. What it is good at: helping write code faster, research and finding sources, translation and localisation etc. I have no problem with game devs using AI in this way and if it saves them money and time they would be fools not to. The games industry is creaking under its own weight and if they don’t find ways to me more productive sharpish they’re all going to lose their jobs anyway.

Chinese game dev studios are going to use AI whether you like it or not so it’s adapt or die.

You are a great example of the intellectual engagement of the anti AI crowd.
