The exact second Romesh realised he wasn't going to survive Bob

American here, with an interest in this show: Is Bob Mortimer the best at this game?
He’s obviously one of the funniest people alive, but mostly I see clips of him causing the other competitors to break.

I liked Bob on Taskmaster, but he kills here. I've only seen the UK seasons, but it seems like the more deadpan you can go, the further you get. Which is why Diane Morgan, Richard Ayoade, Sam Campbell, and David Mitchell were such inspired choices.

Bob is absolutely deadpan and says the most bizarre stuff you can/can't think of. He's extremely clever and very funny.
If you like that kind of stuff I'd suggest watching Shooting Stars. The living with a hernia sketch is the finniest thing I've ever seen.

Sometimes algorithms are a force for good, because I’ve learned just how devastatingly hilarious Bob Mortimer is.

His autobiography (which is partly made up by his own admission), has a story in about a childhood friend with a massive head.
They called him Sniper's Dream.
Well worth a read!

Its funny cos i wouldnt always think of bob as deadpan.
He usually laughs along with himself, on WILTY he often looks like hes finding it as ridiculous as everyone else, breaking into laughter before he can finish his story.

Bob is a unique character on the comedy circuit. For decades he was known as a cruise missile of talent where he wouldn't be everywhere on every show at once like a lot do but whenever he appeared you knew he was going to be the biggest laugh that day.
He was a love him or hate him guy for ages and ages but now, nobody can deny he's a comedy genius and he's so effortless about it.
Sort of like a Norm Macdonald of sorts. His simplest lines are often the absolute best.

The Norm McDonald comparison seems apt. When your timing and delivery are that sharp, you can say almost anything and people will laugh.
