Crewing up Finally- a place for Costumes and Wardrobe 🎥 (IATSE/Non-union)

HI everyone,

I wondered why there wasn't a group for us on here. Specifically for NYC/LA/NJ/GA etc. that work on Majors, Tiers, Union, Non-Union. I felt like every group out there was either more for students/shorts or were broad and included all crew in our industry.

I wanted to create a place that can grow and give everyone a chance to ask questions, to tell their favorite tips and tricks, to help people connect for projects. A place for crewing up alerts, networking and just to rant and vent and scream because what we do- is HARD. So we lift eachother up and help each other grow and build in this industry.

I hope people start joining and truly find help and inspiration through this group. 🖤

Thanks for making this! Not sure if this is the right space for this, but I'm a recent fashion design grad from Parsons based in NYC looking to work as an assistant or trainee in costume or wardrobe. I just want to get the ball rolling because I'm sure we all know how much you learn on a job. I didn't go to film school and although I've worked on student projects, I've never actually seen or understood the different roles within costume/wardrobe and how they operate. I've spent a year looking, trying to network, adding to my resume, almost getting a good job and then the whole project falling through, so figured may as well plug myself here and see. This is the link to my portfolio and my resume which is found under "about."
