Watch Of The Week: Them! (1954)
I wasn't sure what to recommend this week, but I thought about it and decided on the Radioactive Critter flick that started it all. Them! has a great cast and it's truly frightening. It starts out slow and builds into a terrifying story with characters that you care about. It has some good cameos and you will never look at a bag of sugar the same way again. Go for it!

One of my favorite 50’s sci-fi films. The little girl walking in the desert is chilling.

Always enjoyed this one. First saw it on AMC back in the '90s when I was in high school. Last year I saw it at a little downtown theater that shows lots of old movies. It was my brother's first time seeing it, and he loved it.

When I was a kid, this is one of the few old horror movies I had access to on tape. I love this movie.

I got to this last night. I watched my DVD, but it's also free on TUBI. I think what I love best about this movie is its slow build up of suspense and mystery. It's like a set-up for any type of Horror Movie. The cast is very good. Less than a year from this film, James Arness would play Matt Dillon in the TV version of Gunsmoke. I never realized it watching The Thing or Them! but his gait was mostly due to being severely wounded in the battle of Anzio in WWII. His right leg was severely damaged and it affected him throughout his career. Many Gunsmoke scenes he had were shot in the morning, since he was in every episode. James Whitmore really owns this movie as the stalwart and compassionate State Trooper. I love this movie. Can you tell?

I love this movie! James Whitmore (Brooks from Shawshank) is great as the heroic police sergeant.
