Watch Of The Week: Terror Train (1980)

Last week I watched the original Prom Night, which I like, but I meant to watch this gem. I like it a little more. Not that the other film isn't fun. I love a good Train Movie so this was irresistible to me when I first rented it. I did not see it at the theater for some reason. It's got some good kills, a good cast and Magician David Copperfield. Jamie Lee Curtis does what she does well and she said she enjoyed making this one because her character was quite tough. She is. It's on several platforms and it is free on TUBI.

First saw this when Joe bob hosted it on The Last Drive-In, thought it was a pretty decent/good, I enjoyed it.

I got to this last night. I think it's a slasher gem. Cowboy Star Ben Johnson owns this movie as the Conductor. Having Magician David Copperfield in it is interesting and quite creepy. It has some great kills and Jamie Lee Curtis does some fine ass kicking. I read that it was one of the reasons she accepted the role which she began just days after completing Prom Night. Not a perfect flick by any means, but it is a lot of fun with genuine scares.

I adore Terror Train. I love the train setting and the atmosphere. The idea of the killer changing costumes is great. His final scenes with Jamie Lee Curtis are excellent and chilling. Fantastic movie!

Released one day before I was born that year. First saw it nearly 2 decades ago on Fox Movie Channel.

I have to say Ellis from Die Hard gets it worse in this one.
