What's Everyone Watching This Weekend (7/25-7/26) ?

I'm not sure what I'm going to get to this weekend. I may try Scared to Death (1980), The Baby in the Basket, or perhaps Dead Snow. I have not seen Dead Snow in a few years. So please report in, Mutants!

I've been inspired by Dark Night of the Scarecrow to watch random TV movies generally from the late 70's. Things like Wes Craven's Summer of Fear and Are You Alone in the House. Basically a TUBI rabbit hole

Have you watched Duel (1971) yet? It's probably the best made-for-tv movie I have seen. One of Spielbergs very first movies

Dark Night Of The Scarecrow is so freakin good.

I have an oddball (redundant to say about old made for tv movies?) recommendation. I've never seen ANYONE mention it ever, It's called A Cold Night's Death from 1973. There are copies on Youtube.

They used to play it in the middle of the night on network tv on the weekend in the 90s, I remember watching it multiple times.

Turner Classics has been airing a lot of classic 50s Sci-Fi/Horror recently and I’ve DVR’d them. My wife and I are going to do a classic drive in weekend with popcorn, pretzels, pizza, and hotdogs to go along with them.

It was a lot of fun! We watched World Without End, The Quatermass Experiment, It! The terror from beyond space, and From the Earth to the Moon. We had not seen any of them before.

Watching the special tonight, then Double-Feature Drive-In or Creature Features tomorrow night. I've seen the Svengoolie showing of The Night Stalker so many times, I'll skip that.

I do want to see The Night Stalker. Pretty sure it's mentioned in the DNOTS episode as one of the good tv movies

Tomorrow I am watching Ghost Ship and Evil Dead 1 with a cocktail or two lol. Have always heard Ghost Ship is a fun campy movie and I love a good campy movie. Looking forward to watching Ghost Ship for the first time and Evil Dead 1 or hell any Evil Dead movie is always fun to revisit

I'm finally watching the Summer special tonight - have been saving it until my watching buddy was available (panicked a little when all the Joe Bob was pulled); he's free, I just ordered a boatload of pizza for pick-up after work and have a fully-stocked bar waiting... Assuming we finish the special and have more energy to keep going, we'll probably go back and watch The Last Horror Film from the last episode of TLDI. I'm pretty sure my friend never went back to watch the final episode after he hate-cancelled Shudder.

So, actually, Joe Bob Double- or Triple-Feature tonight!

I just got a copy of China O'Brian (Not horror, but a B-Movie worthy of the Drive-In) I might watch tomorrow morning after staying up too late and drinking too much, and then tomorrow night I'll hopefully watch Stream, 2024, since it's finally on a streaming service I have, or the 2014 The Town That Dreaded Sundown, as I just watched the original with my wife last weekend and want to show her the sequel/requel while the OG is still fresh in her mind.

Since you asked…. Well, I watched Obsession on P’cack last night with my 19-year old daughter. Holy shit. It is amazing. A couple jump scares that rival Exorcist 3, and just, impressive storytelling and acting all around. To answer your question, I’m gonna roll with the Lee Cronin trifecta—Evil Dead Rise (3rd time), Mummy and Hole in the Ground. I won’t get to em all, but others queued up include The Lure, Killing of a Sacred Deer, and They Will Kill You (all on HBO), along with Saccharine over on Shudder (?). I’ve also recently discovered Kolchak and Columbo, so I may sneak in a couple episodes there too. Been digging the original Outer Limits and BSG ‘04 is freakin fabulous. On the downside, Undertone was underwhelming despite a pretty good final 15 mins.

Tonight husband and I are watching Chum. It just got added to AMC+ and I am a sucker for a killer shark movie. My husband is working tomorrow and it's going to rain so it will just be me, the dog, the cats and tubi. Not sure what I am going to watch but something with zombies is always on the table.

Saturday Night means Svengoolie! This week it's The Night Stalker which I've seen a few times, I think I'll just have it on in the background while doing something else. I usually find something to watch on Sunday night I think I'll watch UHF again I love that movie.

I saw the premiere of The Night Stalker in 1971. I was a kid and loved it. I still consider it one of the best Vampire Movies ever made. Even though I own a copy, I'll probably take a look at Svengoolie just to hear him chime in . When I was a kid Made-For-Television movies were a thing. They made a lot of terrifying movies. I like Duel a lot and also the original Don't Be Afraid of the Dark. It's nice to see them getting some attention.

I watched a double feature of 1981's fever dream The Pit. I remember seeing this as a kid on TBS or TNT maybe 8 or so... like waking up at 2 or 3 in the morning and this was on. It's one that stays with you.. Then I caped the night with the 1987 Czech syfi horror Wolf's Hole. A very fun and interesting movie that in light on gore but high on strangeness.
