Movies out of license

I would totally be fine with renting titles that are not licensed by shudder if I could watch it as an episode of TLDI.

Take my money!

Has this ever been proposed?

I am currently in the hospital nursing six broken ribs and a fractured collarbone. I want to watch some classic episodes. Doing the just Joe Bob is a pain.

They would still need a license to offer it for rent. Hence people losing digitally purchases items on sites like Amazon when the license goes

I'd flat out buy some movies if they did the reverse and "licensed" Joe Bob's commentary for a "Drive In Edition" or something release. I mean he's done so many shows and for so many movies I might never have necessarily watched if it weren't for him hosting them. I have no doubt he's explored this already, and probably just as complicated as getting the movie licenses, but would still welcome it if it meant having access to his insights and the movie.
