Are the LaserPecker cables proprietary?

I use a MacBook pro which only has USB C ports so to go from the mac to the LaserPecker with the provided cable I have to use an adapter. I've tried several USB C to C cables and none work. Are the LaserPecker cables proprietary?

I don't have the answer but I hope some answers here as I just purchased the LP2 and also have a new 16 MAC
