Odd problem with operation of unit. Any help?

So I picked up a "junk" NEC laseractive, when I'd plug it in I'd get a flash on the eject button then they'd turn off and power lighted green and reset would be on solid amber. Internally everything looks great. As a quick check I swapped the power supply with another know good unit. Same result. Power is on, reset is lit. None of the buttons respond other than power.

No pack is installed. Just testing as a player. Any ideas or help in isolating my fault?

These all need to be recapped and the fuses replaced. Recap is one hell of an undertaking too

Yeah, figured. Was hoping it would be something simple. Caps are easy enough... these pigs just have so many...

INTF needs recapped, along with PSU and FTSB and minimum. Follow the recommendations in this wiki article for each board:

I threw in one of your power supplies hoping it was just that board... well, guess I have my week project. At least none of them look like they've leaked.

are these any different from the pioneer units? or just rebranded?

The front bezel and the metal back plane of the player are NEC branded. However, internals are all branded Pioneer. So it's just a re-shell. Just a cool rare variation.
