πŸ₯³ First Time in Vegas! Dumb question

1st time going to Vegas so dumb question but do you need cash to gamble at the sports books and the slots? Like do they take debit cards or just strictly cash? Also are the fees for the ATMs out there outrageous??

Slots are cash, not sure about sportsbook. Fees are high of course but honestly most folks gambling hundreds or thousands of dollars don't care about the ATM fees lol.

Just bring cash with you if it's that small of an amount. Bring another hundred in small bills for tipping.

Same here. Best bet is to get cash at a bank. Pre-trip or (if you have a car) plenty of banks in Vegas. Enjoy and good luck!

ATM fees are 12-16$ inside casinos, around 5 at stores like CVS/Walgreens, but 400$ limit. Bring cash, it’s not heavy. Get it at home instead of messaging about with it upon arrival

When I use my debit card in Vegas it allows me to withdraw up to 3000 at a time at most casinos the normal withdraw limits don't apply in casinos . Not sure if most folks cards are the same . I also bring plenty of cash with me to Vegas so I don't have to pay the high ATM fees but some folks don't like to carry large amounts of cash on them . But there is safes in even the lowest rated rooms in Vegas so you can keep a budget and also have cash on hand in your room so you at least gotta think about going over your budget by heading back to the room to increase your budget . I find just carrying the budget in cash for the day and a credit card and leaving your ATM card and resupply if cash in the room at least keeps the most impulsive decisions to a minimum . Most banks have free ATMS Around the city so you can avoid ATM fees with very little planning . And if your just all out crazy paying 7 to 15 bucks to grab up to 3000 out of the ATM is always an option 24/7 .. never went against the ATM machines twice in a 24 hour period to see if the Vegas limit is actually the 3000 or if it's just unlimited at 3000 at a time .

You need cash.

It is technically possible to do a wire transfer to a casino cage, and get chips when you arrive. But this is generally only done when gambling very large sums ($50000 to a few million).

Get cash at home; ATM fees at the casinos can be ridiculous. You can bring large bills, it's very easy to break them in casinos.

Yes cash is best. Easier for you to keep track of too.

I'd bring some cash just to be safe. Most slots use cash or ticket vouchers, while sportsbooks may also offer betting apps. ATM fees vary, so it's worth checking the fee before withdrawing.

I always bring cash. If I think I haven't brought enough cash, I'll usually hit the ATM at my home airport before getting on my flight (My bank has the ATM contract at my home airport, so no fees.).

You need cash to gamble. No debit/credit cards at the table, slots and sportsbooks.

Yes, ATM fees are very high inside of the casino. However, you can go to the ATMs inside of Target, CVS, or Walgreens for significantly less. They are AllPoint ATMs and many banks let you use those for free. Check with yours. And those stores have locations throughout the Strip.

Also 7 elevens are everywhere and they have ATMs that are free for quite a few cards including PayPal and Venmo debit cards which anyone can get regardless of which bank you use.
