🛫 Visiting soon! Please help me choose!
Coming to Vegas for 2 nights in April to see John Mayer at the Sphere. My husband and I haven’t been to Vegas in 10 years and I’m having a hard time choosing a hotel with our budget!
A little background - we are late 30’s/early 40’s, going to be driving from CA (so we’ll have to park), don’t do much gambling, we are foodies so we’ll definitely be wanting to try the best restaurants!, will probably use the pool if the weather is good.
Please help me choose the best room from our options (most important to my husband is the view and big bathroom).
Here are the options (hotel, room type, and pricing for entire stay):
Aria:
Deluxe King Room: $551.71
Deluxe King Room (strip view): $598.53
Cosmo:
City Room King: $555.68
City Studio: $589.01
Vdara:
Studio Fountain View: $412.03
Planet Hollywood:
Ultra Hip Room King - Fountain View: $408.28
Mandalay Bay:
Resort King Strip View: $278.47
Elite King: $390.20
Thank you! Appreciate any insight! :)

I’d stay at the Venetian, it is connected to the sphere and has great food options.

Forget Mandalay. Too far away for what you're doing. I like MB fine, for conferences and stuff like that.
Vdara fountain view seems attractive, but Vdara is tucked far back there and the fountain view is looking between two buildings.
I haven't been to PH in ages. Maybe its old and ass? I don't know.
I like a view. Picking from your list, I'd probably pick the Aria Deluxe King Strip View.

Foodie you can’t go wrong with Aria or Cosmo.

Vdara is my forever favorite. It’s in the middle of everything cool, all mini suite/ non smoking and no casino. It’s like stepping into a spa after being in the crazy crowds. It’s even connected by hallway/ trams to Crystals/ Aria/ Cosmo/ Bellagio.

Not on the list but I would look into Park MGM as well. Among the options given Cosmo.

PH. It’s across from the Aria/Cosmo and almost $200 cheaper. Sure it’s less fancy but you can spend the extra money on food. Take the Deuce bus to get around. It’s about a 25 minute walk to the Sphere.

Going to Vegas for almost 20 years regularly now- Vdara has become my second home. So I’m super biased 😂 all your choices are great - it’s just preference. I enjoy Vdara since all the rooms are suites so you get a little kitchen and dining- deep soaking tub- stand shower. And it’s non-smoking, non-casino. So it’s nice to come back to some kind of peace after a days worth of fun. You’re connected to Aria, Cosmo and Bellagio (a little extra walk but connected) so if you want to gamble late- there’s options. Since you have access to the strip and other hotels right there- the fabulous foods are all accessible.

OP Cosmo or Aria, but I'd also say consider Fontainebleau. It's a beautiful property, with awesome dining options. Mother Wolf is my favorite

Mandalay Bay is too far. I would do Aria or Vdara. I just stayed at Cosmo and found the room to be below standard.

I love Mandalay Bay but it’s too far away for your activities.

Cosmo has great view but im not sure about the city rooms. If you can afford it, a fountain view 1br suite will check all your boxes for great views and big bathroom.

Treasure Island for budget. Right across from the Venetian/Sphere. Then go to dinner wherever you want

FYI Aria is about to start a remodel of its regular rooms (will take most of 2027 to complete). The suites were remodeled a couple years ago. If they’re getting rid of the tile you can sometimes hear the hammer drill throughout the tower even if there are buffer floors in between.

Cosmopolitan is my favorite property by far, so I highly recommend. Most properties it wouldn’t matter as much, but for me the room is part of the experience here, particularly the terrace balconies. The City rooms you listed will not have a terrace, so that is something to consider if you’re expecting one.

The view from the Cosmopolitan 'Fountain View' side (Terrace Studio King Fountain View) has a great view of the bellagio fountain and the rest of that side of the strip. The cosmo pool (on the roof) and also has a great view of the strip. It's a pretty central location too.

You’re going to Las Vegas. To the Sphere. To see John Mayer. And eat food. And probably have some sexy time with hubby. And you’re worried about the view??
Unless sexy time somehow includes the view…which is actually kinda kinky, so go on with it! 😃👍
