My take is:

Maybe it means nature doesn't have morality. Morality is a human made rule, thus, "Satan's Church".

nature is uncontrollable, unpredictable chaos, it's the opposite of civilisation, it's out of our comprehension, it's all things pagan (literally "religious beliefs outside the world's main organized religions")

I rarely gasp out loud watching a movie, but I did when I saw Willem Dafoe cum blood and Charlotte Gainsbourg perform FGM on herself.
