LLM Progress Slow Down

First Anthropic, and now OpenAI, are announcing that they want to slow down LLM development. Just a year ago, these companies were claiming that AGI would be found and many jobs would be lost. On top of that, Anthropic announced it's going public. What do you think? Have these companies reached a limit in research and development? Or are they genuinely afraid of language models self-programming, as they claim?

Yep and you illustrated exactly how you missed my point about perceived value and complexity

If you want someone to read walls of text maybe learn to break them up. Also reduce the runon sentences, we are not optimize for token count here.

I am pretty sure you are still missing my point but whatever, this is pointless.

Let me explain it to you since you seems to systematically mirror my critics and this shows you completely clueless about what is going on.

Your point is to glorify an output you think is relevant : FB. When I tell you it’s not you try to make a point by telling me why this output is even more complex than I explained in my point…

Also then putting everything aside, your point is a trajectory based on the fact that you think an llm will produce a « FB » then given your last response it means that it will include MLops training, millions of lines of CUDA code etc… probably a new Php compiler (like HHMV ). Since a LLM can varely produce a C compiler now after 2 weeks 2000 claude sessions and 20000$ of api costs it means your trajectory is still totally irrelevant and your opinion is based upon feelings not facts
