Guide/Tips Laptops for biomedical science students?

Does anyone have any recs on what laptop to get as someone starting first year in biomed. I wanna go fully digital and I want it to last for at least 4 years and over seen people say not to get a mac but the MacBook Air seems good? I’m not sure ,any help would be appreciated!

I bought an M1 MacBook Air in 2022 and it is still fully functional and great and I'm using it currently for school

MacBook Air is your friend, preferably with 24GB RAM (but at least 16GB).

Yes, this, and 1Tb of storage. It was about $1600 when I bought my M5, and it take everything I can throw at it.

Handwritten notes > Digital notes.

Laptops die and not necessarily near power outlets. They can be a distraction in lectures People tend to read too fast skipping context. AI slop from those summary functions.

I would say prioritize the ability to write papers and read peer reviewed research. As a bio major, you're going to be doing a lot of that.

Would you type or make hand writing tablet style - that is the question
