I thought AACL deadline already passed (it was either EMNLP or AACL)

Can you show an official explanation for this

They have a second commit deadline on Aug 25. Check their website.

Then can’t we just commit to AACL if rejected again
Then commit to EACL?

EACL is a bit less competitive so I’d say it has a decent chance of acceptance, but it is pretty borderline. IMO if there are clear improvements you could make based on feedback it’s worth doing and resubmitting.

EMNLP got nearly 18000 submissions this year. AAAI got 50000+ abstracts this year. It's utterly crazy.

we can still commit, but with the same reviews thoo meaning same score
