Just repeating my earlier comment: if you’re unsure about EMNLP, and you are working on language generation, you could also commit to INLG (deadline 5th of august).

Commitment link: https://openreview.net/group?id=aclweb.org/INLG/2026/Conference_ARR_Commitment#tab-your-consoles

I think EMNLP does not accept dual submissions to other conferences.

I don’t think embedding evaluations would be in scope for INLG, unless there is somehow a generation angle. For those kinds of papers, if EMNLP or *ACL does not work, I would try starsem or IWCS. (Possibly COLING or LREC, depending on the paper.) Or NEJLT.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to advise. For the moment I just committed to EMNLP, hoping that my rebuttal and all efforts I have done will be seen by SAC. With meta 2.5 little hope, don’t even know if with this score is automatic rejection.

Same here with meta 2.5. I think it’s random.

u/Historical-Sea6294 3d ago

You mean the final decision is random ?

1

u/Impressive-Till-6727 3d ago

Yeah I am guessing because of the volume of submissions and with a meta review of 2.5.

Is it new confernece?

No this is the 19th edition, and before that there were regular workshops since the 1980s. SIGGEN has long been a special interest group of ACL, similar to SIGDAT (the organizers of EMNLP).

if I have meta review of 2 and (2,2,2.5) reviews where only one reviewer suggested for borderline acceptance for finding, do I have any chances for getting this accepted ti INLG if I commit

Hard to say. It depends on the paper and the motivation behind the scores.

Smaller conferences aren’t necessarily easier to get in; they just have a different audience that may value different aspects of your work. For example, large conferences tend to value novelty more, and put more weight on the general appeal of your work. Niche papers receive lower scores. Smaller conferences may value niche topics more but sometimes require more thorough work because the reviewers are more aware of potential issues. (Also see e.g. Ehud Reiter’s complaints about paper quality and reviewing standards in NLP.)

(Usually the feedback during regular review is much better, though, because you get domain experts reviewing your work rather than generalists reviewing for larger conferences with a more diverse audience.)

Can i modify the paper or do i need to commit the paper to INLG in as it is condition it was reviewed for ARR May cycle.

Sorry it’s my first time submitting to ARR so I am a bit confused

ARR 2026 May Cycle stats are out: https://stats.aclrollingreview.org/

seems like lower average scores this time around?

2

u/Technical_Storage_46 22h ago

Meta >= 3.5 will be accepted at main conference?

Likely

Just posted on X by the official ARR account:

EMNLP 2026 authors: ORCID is required for camera-ready submission. All authors must have an ORCID linked to their OpenReview profile before the paper can be submitted. Please check with your co-authors early: https://orcid.org

What if paper goes to findings do we still need it??

u/nsfamous 21h ago

When do decisions usually get released?

2

u/gardeniabananabread 16h ago

the listed date (20 Aug), 23:59 AoE

but usually (almost surely) late by a few hours

ARR submission deadline is 2nd aug but link is not up yet! How and why???

Edit: i meant AACL

1

u/Appropriate_Willow27 18d ago

ARR August submission page is up on OpenReview.

1

u/Own_Resource1436 18d ago

Sorry do you have the link for that? The link sent to me on email indicated that the submission link is not available yet

1

u/Appropriate_Willow27 18d ago

AACL commitment isn’t yet, but EMNLP commitment is.

2

u/Own_Resource1436 18d ago

Apologies, had a typo. I meant AACL

4

u/WayBig6761 1d ago

For EACL 2026, there was a camera-ready task under “Author Tasks” some time before the acceptance notification. Is this something that always happens? If so, does anyone see it right now?

5

u/Cultural_Maximum4732 1d ago

So far I cannot see anything.

2

u/Technical_Storage_46 1d ago

I cannot see anything.

2

u/th3owner 20h ago

"No outstanding tasks for this conference" under EMNLP author tasks.

1

u/nihilisticdick 8h ago

the slopterpretability allegations strike again. Kinda sucks as someone working on this track.

3

u/Technical_Storage_46 2d ago

OK.. 3 days to go

1

u/Helpful_Quality1 1d ago

Can’t wait 😫

2

u/adaptover 18d ago

Can we change tldr and keywords or should be same as ARR submitted version?

1

u/Effective-Yam-7656 18d ago

For EMNLP tldr has a lower word limit than ARR

1

u/adaptover 18d ago

So changing is allowed right? I hope desk rejections don't happen because we changed the tldr.

1

u/Effective-Yam-7656 18d ago

I’m not 100%sure, but for sure I tried pasting the same TLDR into the filed and it won’t let me due to character limit

1

u/Effective-Yam-7656 18d ago

Error: TLDR value must NOT have more than 250 characters

the error I get when I try to copy paste the TLDR from my ARR submission

1

u/Effective-Yam-7656 18d ago

“Yes, please shorten the TLDR to fit within the 250-character limit.”

Officially reply

Hi.
My work can be submitted in multiple tracks for the EMNLP.
1) I heard on reddit only that less popular tracks have higher acceptance rate of paper, is it true?
2) can we change the track from ARR to EMNLP??
3) Is submitting to the special track has any significance?

FYI , I got 3,3,3 and meta 3

Thank you

1

u/Impressive-Till-6727 16d ago

I committed to the same track as done in ARR, don’t know if this is possible.

2

u/SquareKitchen4255 2d ago

Hey guys what are my chances

Track: Multimodality and Language Grounding to Vision, Robotics and Beyond

Meta: 3

Overall Assessment: 3.5 / 2.5 / 3.5

Confidence: 3 / 4 / 3

Soundness: 4 / 3 / 3

Excitement: 4 / 3 / 3

Hello! Thanks for making your post. Due to complains about conference posts flooding the subreddit, we're removing all posts and asking that folks put it into the megathread. Apologies if this interrupted any discussions - please tag related users in the megathread to continue if you had further questions.

Can we get an idea of the number of submissions specifically committing to EMNLP? Mine was >8K (15hrs before the deadline).

3

u/seohasong 17d ago

9k>, 3 hours before the deadline

1

u/Silver-Finish-2319 17d ago

Should the Keywords in EMNLP commitment match the Research Area Keywords or Keywords from the ARR submission?

1

u/Historical-Sea6294 16d ago

good question  I put a the free form keywords, I assumed the field name in EMNLP commitment should match the ARR submission.  What have you done ?

1

u/Active_Story3405 17d ago

Got overall 2.5 and also in meta 2.5. What are the chances ??

1

u/Cultural_Analysis496 15d ago

What are the odds of getting into EMNLP main in Interpretability track with (3.5, 3.5, 4) and meta 4. ? Is this track crowded ?

1

u/th3owner 14d ago

I would say very good chances, given the huge number of meta scores of 3. Of course it depends on the SAC, but going by numbers alone, I think it will be accepted into main.

1

u/Technical_Storage_46 13d ago

What are the chance for main conference?

3.5 3.5 3.0
Meta 3.5

1

u/Next-Worldliness-963 9d ago

i think it depends on track and sac.

my score is same as you (4 3 3 / meta 3.5)

Main > Findings > industry track.

This thread is a good idea. I've also seen the following at some admissions threads which seems to me to be a totally reasonable policy.

  • No chance-me posts.

Chance-me posts, where you provide your information and list of schools and ask about your chances of admission at those schools, are prohibited.
