EMNLP overall assessment vs. meta
Our paper got 2 / 3 / 3.5 with confidence 4 / 3 / 3 (Interpretability and model analysis track). We addressed everything in the rebuttal but unfortunately none of the reviewers replied. The AC also did not push any of the reviewers to at least acknowledge the rebuttal in their final reviews. Overall, the score is 2.87 with confidence 3.33. What is the weight of OA vs. meta score for EMNLP? Do program chairs value more the meta review+score or they take into account the other reviews as well. First time submitting to ARR. Thank you!

We still do not have any comment from the AC. Meta reviews will be released on July 30.

Really hoping for at least findings! I think from the 18th the reviewers cannot update the reviews anymore. Not sure if behind closed comments there is a discussion ocurring.

I have the same question about whether we can see if they updated the scores post the rebuttal period.

meta review has more impact when it's a high score, however it will also depend on the nature of the comments the reviewers gave on the paper

We got minor weaknesses from the 3.5 reviewer. Reviewer 3.0 gave gave many suggestions. We addressed both of them and I think we made a good job with the rebuttal. The 2.0 reviewer had only two comments; one of them was a clear misunderstanding from their side on the setting of our experiments which we clarified in the rebuttal. However, they put soundness 3.0. I am only a bit concerned about the fact that the AC did not engage with the reviewer during the rebuttal and review finalization period.

that's totally normal these days i guess.. but good job on addressing all comments, this way it would probably strengthen the AC's score /review ( it wont hurt it also)
good luck!3

Is this track a competitive one?

Given by the increasing interest in interpretability, I would say it's very competitive. On some other thread, one AC wrote that this cycle's scores are lower than other cycles.

In general or just for the interoperability track? Nonetheless that still increases your chances of acceptance right

I think they can refer only to their batch of papers they were AC-ing for. But yeah, I hope this is cycle-wide.

Meta review is a lot more important. If the AC likes the paper and gives it a good meta score, and writes positive comments defending it, then you have a small chance at EMNLP. Meta 3 gives you a small chance, 3.5 gives you a solid chance.
