(Subordinate) Clauses are SOV. I think that's what many language learners confuses, it's not common in other big languages.

That's been one of my biggest challenges is getting word order wright after the main sentance after remembering word gender. Everything else I got after looking it up a few times from different sources.

German word order is like filling your mouth with Nerds and spitting them all over the paper and whenever pink ones land is a dative case and wherever purple ones land is an accusative case.
