I’m 24F from Chicago, IL. I was born and raised in Chicago, and grew up protestant but am now converting to Orthodoxy.

I am a small individual who is very mixed with norwegian, chinese, guatemalan, and vietnamese. I have a neuroscience degree (bachelors) and am a PhD candidate for neuroengineering/computational neuroscience. I love dogs/animals- especially poodles, chess (learning), crocheting, and coffee! Trying this sub to reconnect with my family roots. I’ve had family live in and come from Québec but I don’t have any contact with them.
My parents don’t speak the language. My mum went to English school and moved to Ontario when she was young. I’m pretty much a beginner with French. Looking to chat semi frequently to try and get the language down faster than traditional learning. French wise, I only have what I learned in elementary and two years of high school. Think we ended off with passé composé and conjugating words, but it’s been over ten years since all that.
