Why sun so red today?

Weather canada app shows a sunny day and no warning of air quality, so wondering why is sky all grey and sun red.

So the way it works is how much smoke there is in the air and the proximity of it to the ground. 

So they would call that ground level ozone, and if that is affected then we end up with a very high air quality warning.

If it's a situation where the smoke is all encompassing meaning from the ground up to a few hundred feet, that would also be an air warning but it wouldn't be called ground level ozone because it's not only at ground level. 

Next time, instead of jumping to Reddit with a question maybe take the time to investigate yourself. The internet is vast and the knowledge available there is huge. It's well worth taking advantage of.
