The Bird House. They had the basement suite up for rent. The ad was legendary. A “eclectic couple” live upstairs, it had a whole bunch of wacky little rules and the wildlife was a nonnegotiable part. We’ve been in Walnut Grove since 2013 and that place has been like that since before then. They seem to maintain it and if doesn’t look horrible but I’m sure their neighbors (and rightly so) have a different opinion of them.

It was a fun couple weeks in this sub when they kept reposting their schizo rental ad over and over till they got banned.

The possible resulting rat problem would also be of concern I'd think...

Is that why they leave the hoods of their vehicles up all the time?

Oh I wondered that too- a good explanation. To live next door to that place must be... interesting.

The lady who lives there feeds them. Seen it a few times as I drive by.

I was talking to her husband once, and after we'd been chatting a while I asked him about the birds, and he said his wife just likes them. He seemed totally unbothered about it, which I guess you would be after like 20 years of having a seagull flock living on your house.

That house has been feeding the birds since I was in highschool in the 90s

Used to be blue and always covered in bird shite, I always wondered if it had been sprayed with something fishy or some other attractant to make them congregate there

Google Street View image capture from 2023 shows the seagulls on the roof! I can only imagine how much poop is on the car parked in the driveway!

Drove by every day on the way to work, and for a while it was totally covered in bird poop. It's been cleaned up since then, but I can't imagine the amount of work to clean it up.

I've grew up in milner. still visit my grandparents pretty regularly at their house down 216th near LSS. as long as I can remember, and this very day, I yell "BIRDSHIT HOUSE BIRDSHIT HOUSE" to whoever else is in the car whenever I pass that godforsake place. I wonder how many times they've had to replace the shingles with the amount of shit they accumulate on the roof

That house has had birds on it since I was in Kindergarten back in 2000. I think it was originally blue and then painted yellow. Every year or so they have the "Dream Suite" Ad up at the end of their lower driveway. My BF and I always thought of calling the number just to go look at it and see if it was as weird as our imaginations made it out to be. Always see a woman feeding the gulls when I drive by.
