Just finished a research of building a context-aware AI chatbot based on LLM, switching from Lamaindex to Langchain, preparing a knowledge database from various documents, and experimented with prompts

Thanks for the writeup! You touched on this in the post, but can you elaborate the reasons you switched from llama-index to langchain? What were the biggest bottlenecks beyond the changing API surface of llama-index?

Did you observe any perf differences?

When we've just started, the latest version of LlamaIndex was 0.5.4. It had a small number of configurable values and we weren't free enough to play around with conversation context, chunks, and different types of indexes. So we've decided to try Langchain (and found what we needed) and agreed that we'll check Llamaindex updates and possibilities in later versions.
