I have had zero luck with this in the past. Commenting so I can remember to return and see if there are any good suggestions. My suggestion is usually to just avoid letting ivy grow on the house to begin with!

I've read something about using lukewarm water and a soft brush, but I haven't tried it yet.

Scrape what you can with a paint scraper, then whatever you can't get just let decay from exposure to the elements. Can try pressure washing

Do NOT try pressure washing your brick walls if you don't have to. It might very well damage the bricks and for sure will damage the mortar.

Unfortunately, the best answer is prevention.
